With this powerful program, you can manage all your files, whether they're in folders, archives, or FTP sites. Installation politely asks whether to install a Start menu folder and desktop and Quick Launch shortcuts. When Magellan Explorer opens up for the first time, it offers to take over various archive formats, including ZIP, ARJ, CAB, RAR, and some Unix format files. The interface looks like a modernized version of the legendary Norton Commander, but it adds browser-type features such as Favorites. You can organize files and folders by name, date, or last change. The interface itself is highly configurable. You can encode files and upload information via the FTP connection. Magellan Explorer provides excellent file-management features, especially for Webmasters.

Not a bad piece of software. But, be darned sure it does exactly what it says it will do for you because their tech support sucks so bad they should be named Hoover! I bought this piece of crap and didn't test it thoroughly. After SEVERAL attempts to contact their "tech support", I just gave up and unloaded it. Bye-bye $40... hello Directory Opus. At least it works.

Cons
When I compare it to Novatix's program <p>[explorerplus] I like the layout of Novatix's Explorerplus better. <p>I believe Explorerplus has more <p>"layouts" to choose from. <p>[They have choices for 1 window, 2 windows-vertical, 2 windows-horizontal, norton commander style and one other I believe].

A nice implementation at a decent price, but essentially a copy of Commander (Total/Norton). Directory Opus has a far larger feature set and more customizable interface.
