Pros
The original (of which this download is an upgrade) has proven to be great, very user friendly and very simple software for basic ripping.
Cons
Not all the bells and whistles of much more complicated stuff. That's both the plus (for me) and perhaps a minus for someone wanting more features.
Summary
I'm not a geek or an audiophile, and was able to get to work with the ripper right away. Not a very steep learning curve. If you just want to convert LPs and cassettes, (which is what I wanted,) it's just the ticket.

Split LP and cassette recordings into tracks and convert to MP3 format.

LP Ripper makes the task of converting vinyl LPs, tapes and cassettes to MP3 files or CDs much easier. Just record each side of your LP as a single WAV file on your computer. LP Ripper automatically splits the file into a separate WAV file for each track. Optionally, it can also call a MP3, WMA, AAC or similar encoder to produce a compressed file for each track. You can listen to previews of tracks and visually trim the start and finish.
