Not for any kind of business application since you cannot put in any logo in the header or address in footer. NeoOffice and OpenOffice also periodically crashed when I used them, versions about six months old in 10.4.11 on MacBook Pro. AppleWorks from Apple, their commercial software - it crashed as well. So then I started using Symphony. Works with my system great. But I took one of the poster's comments who talked about a registration account. I went to the Symphony site and downloaded the Beta 3 (third upgrade) of Symphony Version 3 (not 1.3 version). It does not crash, has footers and headers, etc. It does have a large interface and I am still looking to see if I can magnify the viewable file (just found, double click on the 100% and then make selection). Symphony was the leader years ago. It is IBM. Have you ever heard anyone say, "Well I just don't know about IBM." That has never happened to me. IBM is quality. This looks and feels better than any of the previously mentioned word processors. Great program and the Beta Version 3, Revision 3 is free. I just have to find the user manual. Try to get it when you do the download. You do have to register, but this thing is like a rock. Out of opening the limited number of files and times I have worked on files is only about 13 times, it has not let me down. Search the web for the Symphony beta site. I think you will be able to find it. It is relatively easy to find and easy to register. I forgot where it was. Remember fellow reviewers to give Operating System and Hardware configurations for the rest of us.
