  Nothing at all

  I am forced to use this ridiculous app at my work. It defies every norm of good app design, user friendliness and lacks even the most basic intuitive features. I HATE THIS APP SO MUCH.

  Summary

  Never, ever, ever even think of using this app unless you are nostalgic for the early 1990s. Why it is still available is beyond me.

  Counter-intuitive, relative based on every email client program I've used Inability to cut and paste email addresses is ridiculous Clunky interface - design is embarrassing Functions and features are hidden in menus and folders that make no sense to users of other programs

  Summary

  I am required by my employer to utilize an email account that is tied to the FC client. I tried for 18 months to make it work for me, but after 20+ years using various web interfaces, Mozilla, Outlook, etc. I threw in the towel. It's a backwards interface with functions that might as well be hidden since they are buried in the most unlikely of places. Multiple steps to assign people to a conference (sharing space). Out of office replies that you can't find. Inability to cut and paste email addresses. Need I go on? Certainly, those who have only worked with FC are fans but, for anyone who has worked with another interface, the learning curve is massive. I abandoned the client and now required my team to work within the google family of products. Also a learning a curve, but one that everyone seems to manage well. And if you can't figure it out, you can find a solution by, well, googling it. FC's supporting documentation is laughable and as counter-intuitive as the software itself.

• Cannot Paste Picture Content

I also agree with the last two reviewers about screen draw problems and crashing on quit. A very poor upgrade, going back to older version.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I've used this program for years with my now-limping-along L.A. Mac Group (hard to give up old friends). This update works fine. Settings are a breeze and file up-and-downloads are intuitive and simple. I wrote this comment to a poster who said he couldn't find the install. It may not address his issue, but someone might find it an FYI... I had my FC 7 inside another folder (with the network icon I use), and FC 8 installed itself seperately in the Applications folder. I moved it into the previous folder and everything works fine under 10.3.4. One thing - I moved the old 7 to the trash and double-clicking my network icon gave me an error (since it was looking for 7). I could open the icon by dragging it onto FC 8 - but it wasn't until I emptied the trash and completely dumped FC 7 that double-clicking my network icon would start up FC 8. I've had no problems with it.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />We've been using FC for a number of years now. I've been beta testing this new client. It's adding tons of requested features. I'm always surprised that this product does not get more press on the Mac Platform. It's the only solution I've found that provides mail services, conference groups, group; scheduling, and integrated address book in a cross platform environment. It even has IM and voice services, but I'm not all that familiar with them. Given Microsoft's poor support of the Mac platform, First Class is a nice option. It has servers on OSX, and Win (and soon Linux). Native clients for these platforms as well. The server is very stable and needs much less maintenance than an exchange server. Note: the interface definitely take some getting use to. But overall it works very well.
