This screensaver is part of an official series featuring stills from the recent films of J.R.R. Tolkien s The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It stiches together a panorama of charming images of the Shire, the home of the hobbits and the friendliest corner of Middle Earth. However, the lack of settings and musical accompaniment may disappoint even Lord of the Rings die-hards. We especially missed a control to slow down the scrolling of the panorama, which goes by quite fast. Nevertheless, Tolkien trufans may enjoy collecting all the screensavers in this series and displaying them with a screensaver manager. It s not quite like visiting Middle Earth, but for those cubicle-bound, daydreaming of the plains of Arda, it s not a bad substitute.
