  Original version, when working, was easy to use.

  Cons

  The old version 2.1 constantly crashed. Emails to support are ignored, never answered. New version will not accept registration.

  Summary

  I purchased in 2005 (including promised free lifetime updates), had to uninstall because of software crashes and lack of help from support. In November 2009 re-installed updated V 4.5.1.1182 but was unable to register with registration info. Will only accept registration with V 2.1. After almost a year and several emails to support, I am still waiting for help. Not worth the effort.

• Not as professional as it looks

  Nice features compared to competitions (does anybody has a recommendation for an alternative?) Website looks professional but ....

  Two features of the registered version do not work any longer: verifying the links and access to the upgrade from the menu. I sent an email to the support, no respond at all.

  I have 20+ years of experience in the software industry. I know what I can expect from free software and the support I should get when I pay for a license Beware! Still no response form the support team, may be in summer vacation? It is a 4-star application.

• The worse customer support

  Pros

  The old version, before it started crashing, kept my favorites up to date.

  Cons

  When I upgraded my purchased software it deleted my registration key and would not accept re-entry. I have sent 3 emails to support with copies of my purchase and still after a month I have not received a response.

  Pros

  Impressed with Link Commander, as I delved into the powerful features - it imports from a wide range of sources, including Delicious, and can compare (and merge) two bookmark collections.

  Cons

  The file I download from cnet.com today was both infected with Virus.Win32.Induc.a. A previously downloaded file was also infected.

  Summary

  I like the product, but am disappointed in cnet.com - I really thought you guys scanned all your files.

  I like LinkCaomander... but I can't import my Compass bookmarks into the same folder structure. That is a MAJOR drawback with 1300+ items in Compass.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Dec 28, 2008<p/>Tech support at Link Commander was VERY helpful in getting me a version that would successfully convert my Compass file... even with 2-3 back and forth attempts. That level of support is greatly appreciated and I'm now using Link Commander in place of Compass. Excellent!

  Being a user of multiple browsers, the least of which is IE, I was on the lookout for a program that'd allow me to use a single collection of bookmarks across Opera, Firefox, and IE, plus allow me to save said bookmarks in the native format of each browser. Every other program I came across was lacking in key areas... UNTIL I FOUND LINK COMMANDER. <p> <p>For starters, Link Commander recognizes bookmark collections from all of the major browsers, IE, Netscape, Mozilla, Firefox, and Opera. So you can pull in your bookmarks from one browser and save them in the format of another. In addition, you can set your Link Commander link collection to automatically synchronize with your IE Favorites folder. <p> <p>But that isn't the only way to use Link Commander. Instead, you'll probably find yourself using it as your full-time bookmark manager, simply because of it's ease of use and flexibility. Links can be added to your LC collection via simple drag and drop, as well as through right click context menus or the clipboard. Used this way, Link Commander simply runs in your system tray so it's available when until you need it. You can also enable the desktop drop target which makes dragging and dropping operations extra convenient. Many common functions including search, add links, and even the loaded link collection itself, are available from the context menu of both the system tray icon and the desktop drop target. You'll find you can perform many operations without even having to launch the full GUI. <p> <p>You'll probably find a number of other useful ways to use this program as well since it can be adapted to just about anyone's usage habits. With a top-rate support staff and a responsive development team, there's no reason to hesitate about purchasing this fine software. <p>You'll probably decide to purchase before your 30 day trial is even up. I know I did!

  Spyware Doctor went totally nuts with this program. I saw links to disreputable companies wishing to steal everything I know in this online world. If you have even half the consciousness it requires to remain alive in this wired world these days, you'll avoid this site like the plague. Don't do it... you will regret it. I have over 12 years experience in this industry, and I know evil when I see it, I saw it here.
