Learn to read and write Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana.

LexiKAN helps you learn to read and write Japanese kanji and kana. The program contains all 1,945 Jouyou kanji and the KANJIDIC and EDICT files, containing over 6,000 characters and 100,000 compound words.

Using the kanji-drawing tool, you can practice writing characters with the mouse using an interactive drawing system that provides stroke-by-stroke feedback on the correct placement and order of your strokes. Adjust the drawing and feedback options to tailor the system response to your learning style. In the reading flashcard mode, you can practice recognition of kanji, kana, or compounds using a Multiple Choice or Fill-in-the-Blank Quiz Mode.

With the Flashcard Builder, generate a custom syllabus of kanji and related compound vocabulary based on grade level, JLPT kyuu, or one of ten popular reference systems. Searchable dictionary features allow you to look up characters and compounds using Japanese reading, English meaning, or even character recognition. Version 2.09.001 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
