Editors’ Review
KeyRocket teaches you keyboard shortcuts, but most of its advice won't wow users with some experience under their belts. It's a neat way to learn new keyboard shortcuts for beginners, though, who will appreciate the helpful advice and low price.
The free version of this program limits users to just one Windows program (Explorer) after a seven-day trial. It will also require an e-mail address from you whether you pay or not. Once you get it installed, the program works completely in the background after a quick tutorial. KeyRocket analyzes your keystrokes and suggests more effective keyboard shortcuts that will save you some time. It is a very light program, so you're not likely to notice that it's running unless you have a very dated processor. It pops up messages from your taskbar, which might make them easy to miss, but they provide shortcut help based on your actions. The keyboard shortcuts it instructs you to use are fairly basic ones, like copying, pasting, and others you probably already know how to use. Apart from Microsoft Windows, the program also works with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as with Microsoft Visual Studio.
This program seems to be targeted at Windows users who are just getting started with keyboard shortcuts. If you're a newbie and don't mind paying a few bucks to unlock a few time-saving secrets, KeyRocket is worth checking out.
Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of KeyRocket 1.0.0.3275.
