Get a pop-up message if you have accidentally pressed a key.
KeyPress Warning was created by Haxaro Freeware. KeyPress Warning is a very light application that pops up a non-disruptivewarning message in the middle of the lower half of your screen telling you if you have accidentally pressed the NumLock, CapsLock or Insert Keys.
it displays quick mesage about capslock and numlock, which is very useful, if like me, you would have prefered audio notification but your pc doesn't support it.
Cons
not as convenient as sounding a tone when capslock or numlock is pressed -- it would be BETTER if it included option for sounds
Summary
it works! it's free! try it out.
Brilliant idea if you can touch-type

Pros
Obvious notification of change of key status.
Cons
For the Num-lock key, it works backwards. Turn num-lock on and the programme tells you it has been turned OFF and vice-versa.
Summary
Useful if you ouch type but it is arse about.
Simple, hassle-free, very useful

Pros
I'd even say: not necessarily the 'wrong button' - this app will flash a not if you press CAPS LOCK, NUM LOCK and INSERT (thank God it doesn't bother with Scroll lock) stgating whether you turned the feature ON (red text) or OFF (green text).
Cons
Some people would find it difficult to install and autostart it without an installation package. If you run it you can't configure anything and can only terminate it by killing it.
Summary
It's more useful than the tray indicators because it pops up, gets noticed then disappears. Very light, uses few system resources.
Does what it says on the tin

Pros
No flash, no mess. It just tells me that I've hit the wrong button
