• Picalo is a totally genius idea!!!

  Pros

  Handles massive files with ease that cause MS Excel and MS Access to choke.

  Cons

  In the "shell" (bottom) window pane - it has a Python scripts tab, but I would also like to see a(n) SQL scripting tab too.

  Summary

  I needed analyze a massive .csv file and both MS Excel and MS Access were giving me errors every time that I tried to open or import it. Picalo sucked the data right in and recognized the format automatically (including the delimiter and text qualifiers)... before I knew it I was learning how to script in the Python language and do automated queries - which I had no idea about before. This tool is so genius that it shows you the script for every action that you take - right at the bottom pane of the window. Therefore, not only does it handle and manipulate all kinds of huge (or tiny) data files - it shows you how to script too. BRILLIANT!!!
