Junk-Out keeps junk mail out of your Microsoft Outlook Inbox, using a combination of statistical methods (Bayesian filtering) and information you provide, to show only e-mail messages you want to see. The more you use Junk-Out, the better it gets at distinguishing useful e-mail, and getting junk out of your way. The heart of Junk-Out is its continually learning content-based / Bayesian filter mechanism. This feature can use a Fast Track word list, a seed vocabulary of over 30,000 words, to start filtering junk out of your incoming e-mail as soon as you install it. Then it gets better with every e-mail you receive, adding to its knowledge from experience and the training you give it with just a click of the mouse. Version 1.14.0048 works with Outlook 2003 (as well as 2002 and 2000) and has many new features.

Been looking for a good anti spam program. This worked fine in the 21 day trial version.
Cons
After getting nagged for weeks I finally forked up buy it, but the full version wouldn't load. Despite several inquiries got no reply from tech support. They only provide an online form - no phone number. I'm on my third attempt at reinstalling after stripping out all registry settings and am keeping my fingers crossed. Would recommend avoiding unless poor service and support improve.
Summary
Don't wast your time with this one. It's very unstable and slow.

Great concept, very adaptable and does a good job of identifying SPAM and good emails.

Very slow. Very unstable. I always view my email using the preview pane in Outlook. However using the preview pane with Junk-out installed caused Outlook to crash every time it was run. No where does Junk-out tell you this. Also, this is taken from their FAQ page: <p> <p>Why does Outlook® crash frequently during Send/Receive since installing Junk-Out™? <p> <p>Outlook® itself seems not to be able to cope with folks interacting with their e-mail while Junk-Out™ is busy processing new mail on some systems. Therefore, while Junk-Out™ is processing your e-mail (i.e. while its task bar tray icon is showing an animated clock or arrow), you shouldn't interact with your mail in Outlook. <p> <p>Outlook crashes frequently with Junk-out installed and according to them it's all Outlook's fault. It couldn't have anything to do whith their program. Yeah, right! <p> <p>Avoid this one folks. Junk-out = Junk!

I have two web-based businesses, and spam is out of control even with server-based filtering in place. I have downloaded trials for many client filters. The most recent was Norton AntiSpam, which while it has some nice features, is only rule-based and its accuracy was under 80%. I was a SpamInspector user, but their 4.0 release was a train wreck and became extremely unstable, causing me to abandon it even though i paid for it. Bayesian content filtering seems essential for high accuracy and adaptability to ever-changing spammer strategies. Junk-out combines Bayesian learning with rule-based filtering, and the rules are updateable via web. I was startled by the accuracy of this filter on day one, and it has continued to be close to 100%. I think I've seen one false positive. Parts of the UI are a good bit too gearhead for casual users, but that is a very minor complaint because the thing actually WORKs. You can get by perfectly well without visiting the arcane options screens. I would highly recommend this filter if you are an Outlook user.

After trying Pop-file and paying for Ella with mediocre results, Junk-out finally combines all the best features - automatic white list, simple to use, easily trained - there isn't anything missing. Results - nearly perfect, 98% accuracy after 1,750 emails, only 2 (0.11%) false positives, and those were both from commercial sources. This will only improve over time with the ability to add friendly addresses and custom filters. A fantastic piece of software - as a professional software developer I am totally impressed at the design and functionality.

Summary
I have such a problem with spam (as most of us do) and I tried so many different filter programs. iHateSpam, MailWasher, etc. Junk-Out is hands down THE BEST! I have yet to see it miss one piece of spam and have had only 4 false positives in the two months I've used it. If you use Outlook and you are looking for a spam filter, your search stops here.

Train it for a few days on your mailing habits, and it will take care of 99% of the junk in your inbox. The latest release adds filtering for up to 10 more folders in addition to the Inbox!
