jPod is a free, lightweight Windows application, replacing iTunes for managing almost all iPods. It offers standard library functionality (adding, removing, editing) in addition to playlist editing, easy backups, good cover art management, direct iPod-to-iPod transfers and more, all without any bloat.. The user interface is simple and fast, the executable clocks in at a fraction of a megabyte, and there is no installation necessary. Compared to its competition, jPod is more reliable, has a cleaner user interface, boasts all necessary features for managing your music and videos, and is small and portable enough that you can just keep it on your iPod.iPhone and iPod Touch are supported through the use of the small, free "jPhone" utility, by the same author, which allows Windows to access these devices (as well as iPad) as hard drives.

WIPES OUT THE iPOD

Willl force you to reset your iPod to factory new, meaning wipe out all its content.
Summary
Once you connect uyour iPod to this software, you won't be able to reconnect it to iTunes without wiping out eveything on it, ie ressetting it to factory new. So use this at your own risk.Before wiping it out, you may still use SHAREPOD to backup its content. then iTunes will set it back to factory new and then you'll be able to restore the content from the backup you created with SHAREPOD (which insofar is the best soft I've found to deal with iPod outside of iTunes which is a pain in the b..

Fast download. No installation required
Cons
Nothing happened when I clicked to grab from ipod. Nothing happens when I use any of the tools. The only thing that works is File--> Exit!
Summary
Don't bother with this at all. It didn't do a damn thing for my iTouch.

Pros
In a hard drive crash, I was left with my music library only on my ipod, not my computer. iTunes would not recognize my songs because the computer library and ipod library didn't match. jPod was perfect for getting all my songs back to the computer.
Cons
I'm not sure how to retrieve pictures from the ipod to the computer using jpod. What jpod lacks in attractiveness it makes up for in ease of use and practicality.
Summary
jpod eliminates all of the dumb restrictions iTunes has on how/where you can listen to your music.
Great for ripping iPods onto multiple computers!

Pros
I've been needing to rip my brothers iPod onto my computer for months now. This application does just that! Its very fast too!
Cons
It's, not very pretty... But feature-wise it's very useful.
Summary
Perfect for anyone needing to quickly update their iPod library or rip their iPod onto multiple computers. Simply marvelous!
