Export your playlists from iTunes.

Syncer exports your iTunes playlists and creates a copy of your playlists into your chosen directory. The target of this directory can also be a removable media (eg USB stick or SD card). iSyncer is a desktop application for Windows and MacOS. Use iSyncer to export your iTunes music without any effort. iSyncer will not automatically store your music by artist, album, because you decide the format to store your music.iSyncer provides a copy of the playlist tracks directly to the desired destination directory (also removable disks). Optionally, it's possible to create playlist formats like m3u, m3u8 (UTF-8), pls, wpl or xspf. You can manage your playlists for synchronization with user-defined profiles. As well you can select an iTunes playlist and a matching synchronization format (eg Playlist/Artist - Song) and add it to a profile. During the synchronization, the filename of a song is generated corresponding to the synchronization format (also called config) from the ID3 tags of a song. For synchronization, you have only to select the target directory and a profile and start with one click. The synchronization ensures that the current playlist tracks are stored in the target directory. This means: With synchronization new songs are added, changed songs (eg change of ID3 tags) are updated and no longer existing songs of an iTunes playlist are deleted. With iSyncer you have the possibility to convert your music into the formats m4a, mp3, ogg, wav or flac by synchronization. In addition, you have the option to scale down the artworks/covers during synchronization to the dimensions 300x300px, 500x500px, 900x900px, 1200x1200px or 1500x1500px.

Best Out There For Syncing iTunes

Pros
As of v2.6 it does everything well. For example, if you have some lossless tracks in your iTunes (via CD ripping, etc.) it will downconvert to a format / bitrate that your car likes and that saves USB space. Its output folder/file arrangement is not limited as in the early version and now outputs virtually any arrangement you can think of to suit your car and/or your preferences. It also truly syncs: if you delete a track from a synced playlist in iTunes (and it's not in any other synced playlist) it will delete that track from the USB drive, opening up space for other tracks. Other goodies, too.
Cons
None are apparent.
Summary
Great software. Lightweight, meaning it uses minimal memory and does not try to take unwanted control of your music library or playback. Best out there in my view and I've probably tried all the alternatives.

Pros
Transfers files effortlessly from iTunes playlist to USB stick (without intermediate steps like WMP import). Offers options for playlist format, file format conversion. Paid version offers multiple output directory structures. Multiple profiles make it simple to maintain lists for different sticks.
Cons
Does not maintain track order in the output playlist - just alphabetical. Currently having some erratic results - tracks missing, playlist not detected - but early stages, still investigating. Tracks that appear in multiple playlists are written to the USB stick multiple times (free version).
Summary
I've been creating USB sticks for use in multiple family cars - Ford, GM, BMW - by transcribing iTunes playlists to WMP, performing WMP sync to USB, then copying over the WPL files - but folder reference compatibility has finally beaten me. Tried this utility (free version to start), and it does a very nice job of transferring files from iTunes to a USB stick. It writes each file into a folder named for the playlist, then writes a playlist (WPL or other formats) into the origin folder; simple but effective, yielding the additional benefit that if the playlist is not interpreted correctly for whatever reason, one can simply "play all" from the corresponding folder. A "profile" defines what playlists and format options are to be used; multiple profiles can be used for different output devices. Very nice. Reasonable user interface; reasonable performance during transfer. I intend to explore the "registered" version options, as well as to investigate what appear to be problems in picking up certain tracks and/or playlists in my BMW (it may clear up over time, the car system software is opaque).
