  Technical enough for us to customize and get data of our choice. IntelliVIEW is an easy to use software - easy for developers in creating queries. It connects to any RDBMS. This is a product for a corporate environment.

  At first glance, this software looks nice and seems easy to use...

  Cons

  ...however, when you try to do real work with it, the software quickly breaks down. Quality is low. Basic formatting functionality either does not exist or does not work. Custom calculations do not apply to group totals. Linked report functionality is very basic and there is no option to display the linked report below the main report instead of to the right. Reports exported to Excel export numbers that include punctuation as text. <p>Worst of all, even when I expressed a desire to buy the product the service from Synaptris was terrible. They never respond to emails and I would have never communicated with them at all if I had not called them directly. They promised me bug fixes, but constantly slipped the release dates and would never even confirm what fixes were going to be in the release if/when it ever shipped.<p>Finally, the product is overpriced -- even if it did work. It costs much more than Excel and has a fraction of the functionality. I'm sure Microsoft could add this functionality to Excel in a month if they wanted to. They probably have most of the code already sitting in VSS.<p>Don't waste your time on this unless you are prepared to be disappointed.

  I did not spend time to test the software once I realized this is not free...

  Cons

  The licence card specifies that the software is free and that there is no limitation. However, when trying to install the software, I realized that I needed to register to get a key to use the software. I registered, just to receive a evaluation key... So no, this software is not fee at all...

  Pros

  The excel like report is pretty easy to prepare. The column grouping is cool. Seems to handle very large datasets fairly quickly.

  Cons

  The captions could definetly be a bit more descriptive. A lot of formatting options are a bit misleading.
