• Does what it says bit little buggy

  Pros

  Replaces text in multiple files, you can use some tools to replace in several files without having to select each one of them

  Cons

  Only small texts will be replaced. Download didn't work so I went to the publishers site and got it there, had to uninstall with windows config, my computer rebooted automatically after uninstall, that didn't happen to me in about 8 years or so

  Summary

  There are simpler programs than this one that do the job

  I find this software great for find and replace in text files. It's lightening fast and always reliable. A must-have on all my computers.

  Great for finding and replacing text in text based files, where a part of line content , or complete line needs replacing Extensive regular expression support, so can perform other variations as well, although I did not need anything more complex

  Output is rather messy and extensive. could be tidied up BUT hey - it is free so stop griping If you want fancy everything, then pay for it

  great tool for searching and / or replacing text in multiple files. I had over 500 files I needed to replace some text in . Phew - cannot imagine doing that manually Did what I needed so cannot complain. User interface is very simple, but not necessarily intuituve, and output is over verbose

• Not simple to use - Didn't help me - Can't open files

  Pros

  It might be useful to do huge tasks if you can get past how the hard to grab at first glance program.

  Cons

  It's not useful for small tasks at all. You can't paste text in to edit. You can't open a single file to edit. You can tell it only a directory or a folder, what to search for and it'll replace. Traditional menu at the top is not what you think.

  Summary

  I've opened numerous programs that I've never used before and immediately opened a file and went to playing with it. You try to select new or open at the top and it doesn't open the file, so that alone is confusing. When you go to the bottom of the screen to where you really find the folders of files for it to edit, you realize that it won't actually let you select one single file. You can only be general as to what directory or what folder to look for to edit all the files in. I thought, okay... I must be missing something, let me check out the help menu... another big surprise (disappointment) here as well because it gave me an error that it couldn't open the help menu! This program was a total waste of my time.

  Pros

  It simply does the job without any failure. There's a batch option in it.

  Cons

  Setup could be better. Command line could be supported but nothing let me think that it's possible. But the possibility to use a "Command File" to do batching doesn't make it necessary.

  Summary

  About my cons: A simple dialog form could give the user the possibility to setup the app as he want (no need to create a "seRapid.set" file in a specific file format... hopefully, this is described in the help)

  Pros

  It does what it says, search and replace lines of text across multiple files. Very handy for replacing text strings in html files, such as adding in or changing server side includes, CSS link references in the header, anything else the the header, modifying table/cell specifications, and so on.

  Cons

  The result output, a text file, is a little hard to read and make sense of. But, that isn't connected to the actual results of modified text strings. Just look in the modified files to determine that the text strings were changed as you you wanted. If you entered the search info and replace info correctly, the results are exactly what you want.<p>Great tool.
