  Never got it to run

  The download is an exe file. When I tried to run it directly from the download - it opened a dos window and quit. Was not running as a service either. When I downloaded it and ran it from my hard drive - same result.

  I had the same thing happen as user ajhilburn reported, a DOS window opened for a second or so and that was it, nothing after that. I am running XP Home with service pack 3 and it states that its supposed to work with XP.

  Summary

  Looked like a good alternative to Trillian and I wanted to try it, guess I will stick with Trillian.

  Pros

  This is a super convenient messenger - all in one - like the other "interoperables" but with the free Audio/Video, its tough to beat. IMs not moving in this direction seem to be treading water in my opinion. Imvite's Messenger is on target.

  Pros

  I'm not a newcomer to the IM world by a long shot - and this messenger is quite good. Its the only one with free audio and webcam for every network AIM, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo - plus they have their own encrypted IM network. The IM itself works like a clock - plus I get some money back when I click and shop through it at the normal stores, ebay, etc. These are cool features. <p> <p>I contacted their Customer Service and they responded quickly. They told some very cool things are on the way and I'm "imvited" to partake. Thumbs up from this cowboy.

  Couldn't find any.

  Cons

  Downloaded as an EXE file. When I attempted to install it, the EXE brought up a DOS window that appeared and disappeared. It did absolutely nothing after that. No install, nothing. <p> <p>Don't waste your time with this one! I'm running Windows XP Home/SP2. Maybe someone with another OS should try it.

  It didn't work with my Internet Explorer, which i think is stupid because it will lose alot of downloads if it won't work on the later IE's

  Pros

  conected easily with AIM, Yahoo, and MSN <p>quick and easy installation - clean interface, easy to understand. <p>encrypted chat for anti-spam security <p>imvite says they give rebates on shopping purchases from clicks on the IM. audio and video is free - others charge.
