• Good but just a few functions short of great

  Pros

  Reliable duplicate image detection. The only duplicate image finder that allows comparison and merging of series of image duplicates.

  Cons

  No capacity for batch selection in series merging dialog.

  Summary

  A reliable duplicate image detector like many others but with the added capacity to compare duplicate series of incrementally named file series. This series comparing/merging option is hampered by the fact that one cannot simply select one or the other series to delete all at once -- selections have to be made one click at a time. Without the ability to select one or the other series for deletion all at once, the comparing/merging dialog is tedious and offers little real advantage over the basic one-image-at-a-time dialog common to this and many other image comparison software.

  Pros

  Identifies duplicated photos.

  Cons

  Childish looking interface. Feature reduced trial - cannot get feel for program which appears to be quite "flaky" from the reduced functionality. Duplicates must be deleted one by one. No option for multiple deletions

  Summary

  Not a program to get excited over. Positively will NOT purchase this program based on no information other than limited functionality of trial. Interface needs to grow up and put on a professional appearance. Looks like a childs game. Never did understand about the program creating "galleries" then saving them. I only want a program to identify duplicate photos and delete all except the newest of each duplicated set. This program does not appear to do that.

  Pros

  It indexes a large collection of say 150.000 pics in just 30 minutes if you have a normal PC with enough memory. After indexing, a new image can be checked against the database blazingly fast. The GUI is quite good, but could be improved.

  Cons

  The visual similarity algorithms work quite good, if you compare a certain image that is already in your collection but has a different resolution or quality. If you want to find similar kind of images using a higher treshold, then you get sometimes a lot of false positives that look quite not the same when compared by a human. But taking into account that the complex human visual system can't be modelled by a computer program, it does it job very good.

  Pros

  First of all it's very well thought-out interface. <p>In the second place it's the faster tool to clean up the image collection from duplicates that I know (I compared with two other tools), especially for biggest collections (I have some different sets of images with more than 100.000 images per one). And thirdly - it's special tool to automaticaly removal of small duplicates.

  Cons

  I don't understand some options without reading of manual :( and I can't find binary duplicate when the external drive with original images is removed.

  Cons

  My computer worked the whole night to load 50000 pictures. When I woke up, it crashed during the process. I did it again, it worked, so I decided to save the database. When I wanted to load the database a few hours later, it crashed... Impossible to use it. I still managed to work on less than 5000 pictures, and the software gave me lots of false positives.

  I find all features what I need to process my gallery. Not very modern interface but all dialogs is very comfortable for me. I found one problem - one time the programm crashed on the corrupted image. After this it infor me about corrupting image and I delete it - but it required rescan the collection of images.
