If this image-saving application were a puzzle, it would be missing some pieces. Or, in some cases, the pieces would be from a different picture. Whatever the analogy, Image Quick Saver doesn't add up. It promises simplicity in saving Web images, but instead delivers an overly complicated sidebar interface that's nearly impossible to understand.

The publisher's poorly constructed description is the first clue that users might have troubles. That's nothing compared with the sidebar, which lacks design but is certainly creative in its usage of words. Buttons, links, and check boxes seem to be randomly placed on the upper part of the sidebar. There's no sense of where to begin or how to get your images into the sidebar, and labels like "Seletable" don't make things any clearer. And with no Help file, we couldn't begin to grasp how the Antifreeze check box applied. One icon marked "Lucky" is fairly prominent, but it's hard not find some irony there. Perhaps it's a nod to Google's "I'm feeling lucky" search option, but it seems more like a plea for what you'll need to be to get Image Quick Saver to work. Ultimately, we were able to save images but it wasn't always easy to tell what led to the success. And it never grabbed more than one image, even on graphics-laden sites like Flickr.com. Instead, it grabbed one image and saved it in multiple sizes.

It's hard to believe anyone tested this app, and harder still to believe they want you to pay for it after the short 15-day trial. Two words of advice for Image Quick Saver: Skip it.

Developer’s Description

Grab and save Web pages for offline browsing.
Image Quick Saver was designed to help you save multiple Web images quickly and easily. Simply select images you wanted with mouse, drag them onto the vertical bar, then click download, all work is done for you. The simplest way, by click lucky, you can get the biggest image of current Web page and save into your disk directory just with one click. Image quick saver is specifically designed to address the biggest problems when saving images on the Web. While saving images with IE, you have to save each image separately, that is to say if you want to save 20 pictures you have to click 20 times. Yet, alternately, you can save the whole Web page and all pictures on the Web page will be saved into a folder. But if you look up the folder, some images like the Web site log, ad pictures are there too. Version 1.2 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
