Multimedia authoring software for capturing, editing, organizing, processing, and exporting video, audio, and text to create DVD quality movies and slide shows. Editable transitions are created automatically when video clips are dragged on top of each other. The full palette of QuickTime effects is available. HyperEngine-AV comes with twelve studio-quality effects from Arboretum's Hyperprism suite of audio processors. More can be added by purchasing a license, including Ray Gun for cleaning up scratchy vinyl, tape hiss, and hum.

HyperEngine-AV also offers text features to display credits, section titles, or karaoke lyrics with fully editable font, size, type, color, style, alignment, and scroll direction. HyperEngine-AV is for both novice digital moviemakers and professionals alike.

- Free. - Extensive range of special effects. - Great support of formats. - Audio effects. - Easy to use short-cuts. - Video capture directly from camera.

- Track selection not intuitive - Lack of envelopes for controls - Processor hungry and can bog down
Summary
For a three third party tool outside the scope of major developers this one really hits the spot. It's bounds and leaps beyond iMovie and I am amazed it hasn't as much attention. I for one am glad I found this gem and thoroughly recommend it. The wide range of export formats is a plus, and a camera import tool. The user interface beats iMovie hands down and so do the effects, including various audio effects.
No windows can be opened, making this unuseable.
