We've seen quite a few programs that promise to capture Internet content in one way or another, and more often than not, these programs disappoint. Hulu Downloader, however, actually delivers an effective and fairly easy-to-use set of tools for capturing and converting online Flash videos, such as those found on Hulu, YouTube, and other popular Web sites.

The program's interface isn't entirely intuitive, but with a bit of experimentation it's not too hard to figure out. The program's major features are arranged with buttons down the side. The browser function allows users to travel to the desired Web site and play a video, and the program automatically locates the video's URL and gives the user the option to download it. The videos download quickly, and the program comes with category folders--Entertainment, Science, and Sports--into which videos can be organized. The program also has several other useful tools, including a built-in FLV player, a utility that allows the conversion from FLV files to a wide variety of other formats (and vice versa), and an audio ripper that allows users to pull sound tracks from the downloaded FLV files. The built-in Help file is well-written. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by how well all of Hulu Downloader's features worked.

Hulu Downloader is free to try, but limits users to 20 downloads, which cannot be more than 10MB each. There is also a 14-day trial period. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

Lots of crashes (especially with Windows 8). Non existent customer support. Ridiculously expensive. License expires after one year.
Summary
I purchased a multiple license copy about a year ago. I installed it my windows 8 laptop and desktop. The program crashed at least once per use. I attempted contacting customer support several times but never got a response. After a year I started receiving prompts to (a) upgrade to the latest version and (b) register the product. Turns out my registration had expired. I could purchase a lifetime upgrade for a mere 159 dollars (one year licenses go for 59 dollars). What a deal! I greatly await news of this company's demise.

With this product, you can download many HD films with the high quality from Hulu and Hulu Plus. It's a nice program, easy to install and use. A perfect application for downloading films.

It definitely does NOT work on hulu, as its title suggests. Hulu gives an error saying adobe flash player required, hulu's front page redirects you to a "your version of internet explorer is no longer supported"

It basically doesn't work. First snafu is that it kept insisting that I download to the latest version since it didn't support the flash player I had installed. Did that to version 2.5.4.8, which I already had installed anyway. Same message came up again. Tried to contact them via their email form, and that led to an onscreen error message with their server. Tried to run it anyway, copied in the URL (I'm guessing, since it really isn't very intuitive), and nothing was recorded. Not a good start for this product.
Summary
I'll try a little more with this software, and hopefully I can get it to work. Not a good first impression though.
Why not try another free one--AVGO Free Video Converter

It works. But It's not a free one. There are a lot of free software can do the same thing.

But it is too expansive. Why not try another free one, AVGO Free Video Converter. AVGO can download Hulu and Youtube perfectly.

To start, this program is FULL of adware!!! It is essentially GetFLV with even more adware added. Neither program really works and the supposed free trial is a joke. Interface is difficult to navigate and use. I only got 2 minutes of video and it was crap. I am still cleaning junk off my computer that this program left behind. I don't know why CNET recommended this program. I strongly suggest using Any Vido Downloader instead.
