Developer’s Description

Monitor your CPU's temperature, fan speed, and voltage.

HMonitor is a software cooler for your CPU, reducing the temperature by up to 30 degrees. It also monitors and displays hardware parameters collected by the sensor chips installed on certain motherboards. The program monitors voltage, CPU and motherboard temperature, and the fan's speed. It supports a wide range of boards and sensors. This update features minor enhancements and bug fixes. The new Asus sensor chip ASB100 is supported now, and several modern Asustek boards are supported.

Doesnt see my laptops fans, but has basic monitors.

It does have basic monitoring of some PC temperatures.
Cons
On my Toshiba Qosmio it didnt see any of the internal fans, or voltages, so there was no way it could control the fans.
Summary
This is probably a good program for a regular PC for controlling fans, monitoring voltages, and temperatures. And even though it wont control my laptop fans, it still can be a good temperature monitor. 3/5 stars.

Can not use product since re-installed software. I recently re-installed windows 7 on the machine I use hmonitor on. When I went to use the hmonitor software I entered my key code and it said it was not for this machine. I wrote an email to support@hmonitor.com and that is when the real problem came in. The gentleman that I delt with told me I needed to use the email I used with my paypal account and no further emails would be accepted from this one. I then wrote using the email I use at paypal and the same man told me I needed to send my info to register@hmonitor.com which I then did but the mail server bounced it saying it was invalid. I wrote the support again and was told they could not help me with my mail server. I wrote and explained it was their mail server that rejected the mail and they wrote back saying Until you follow my instructions, can't help you, sorry. I explained How I had followed instructions and that they were being rude and they replied Really??? Well, i have nothing to add then... ;-) I told them this was very poor customer service. At which I discovered they had ban my email server from sending them emails at all ? I now own hmonitor but can not use it for the machine I purchased it for. I can not get support and feel this company is extremely unprofessional

Although it says a trial it does not. I installed it and started it and when I didn't have an option to continue in trial mode I clicked close and it shutdown my entire computer. I don't know if that is their idea of a joke for not having bought the program it was not funny.
Next-best thing to NextSensor, but watch out for SPAM

Pros
Works with Windows 7, including x64. Comprehensive monitoring.
Cons
Confusing interface, bad documentation. CPU throttling available only in paid version. Registration demands a non-public e-mail address (i.e., no Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail accepted) that starts getting spam for pirated software.
Summary
What I really wanted was NextSensor, the BEST monitor and CPU throttling utility ever made (and it was freeware!), but development on it has long ceased and it doesn't support 64-bit systems. HMonitor is the next best thing I could find that does, but it's not nearly as straightforward as NextSensor. The interface is confusing and the documentation is poor. And the CPU throttling feature I needed is only available in the Pro (paid) version. Even automatically checking for updates is an optional, paid feature. I bought the Pro version, but the purchase process refuses e-mail addresses from known public Web mail services like Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail. I informed a very rarely used account provided by my ISP and it was accepted, but spam advertising pirated software started arriving immediately in that account and still arrives heavily. At the very least they or their paying service don't secure their customers' e-mail address database, because spammers got my address from it - no doubt about this, given that the e-mail account was hardly ever used and timing matched perfectly. So, BEWARE!

VIRUS Beware!! McAfee found Artemis trojan and quickly cleaned. Program tried to disable all firewalls antivirus and security settings upon installation. Must be checked out further by CNET.
Summary
Definitely not spyware free. Even somone with an imppecable a record as the people at download.com can make a mistake.

Seemed like decent software by description, paid for it and support would not send me the key to utilize it, said email did not come from same email as the paypal payment, even tho future communications came through paypal regarding the transaction

Horrid customer service, wasted time with multiple coorsponce just trying to get what was paid for against all reason and common sense...
Summary
Use SpeedFan it is free and WAY more robust, save your money on HMonitor and donate it to Speedfan like I did and get a much better experience and product.

Either the software or their website gave me a virus. That about covers it.
Summary
I went to their website, downloaded the newest version and sent payment via Paypal. Immediately, my scanner notified me that a trojan virus that had just been installed on my system in the hmonitor directory! I had to chase it for a couple of hours to eradicate it. It also modified my Firefox script permissions which would have allowed a re-infection if I ever visited their site again. Is this company just a front for hackers? Now I have to file a Paypal dispute to try to get my money back. What a scam.

there are many cpu and motherboard monitors around,some free and some paid for however the main problem is compatibility,by this i mean you need to find a version that works with the sensors on your motherboard my old motherboard(epox 4plmi) came with a excellent peice of software,the usdm or unified system diagnostic manager would monitor the cpu,motherboard temps aswell as the speed of the cpu and case fans,and since it was specificly designed for that motherboard it worked perfectly however HMonitor 4.4.3.3 is as close as it comes to the udsm,its layout is excellent and all tempertures a clearly stated and there are also tempertures for your hard drives(which is unusual) and your graphic(s) card much like speedfan you can set limits on tempertures for each device and a alarm can be sounded when the threshold is reached however this is optional also you can minimize the program to the taskbar if you want it to monitor your system during a benchmark you can also change fan speeds from what i have read however i cant comment on this as i am using is just for its monitoring capabilities so in summary HMonitor 4.4.3.3 is a excellent program and i shall be purchasing as soon as possible,and i would recommend others to do the same,especially during the hotter weather as this is when pc,s obviously overheat and at least with this you can see when your cpu fan isnt up to scratch excellent software
