This active window manager does its job, but a lack of user guidance and flexibility mar its overall performance. HideWin doesn't require installation and offers no user interface or confirmation after running its executable file. No Help or read-me files are included either, which could leave users, especially the novice, in the dark about how to get started. The only instruction comes from the publisher's brief description of the program, which includes the limited hot-key combinations offered. This freeware can only hide the active window and lacks a way to hide all open windows or build a list of excluded windows. You can restore them all at one time or individually, starting with the most recently hidden window. With more user-friendly and functional freeware options on the market, users shouldn't have any trouble finding a better way to manage active windows.

Hidden process that enables 3 hotkeys to hide/restore hidden windows. CTRL+ALT+H will hide a window, CTRL+ALT+S will unhide a single hidden window, starting with the last window hidden, moving towards the first window hidden with each successive press, and CTRL+ALT+A to unhide all windows hidden with HideWin.
