Editors’ Review
This fitness assistance program tracks your food intake and workout routines, but it isn't user-friendly and lacks some features we'd like to see. Healthtracker's busy interface has a lot of options, but it doesn't provide some necessary help for getting started.
Users begin by filling out target weight, goal date, and current weight. Record-keeping is pretty simple; you can record what you've eaten and exercises you've performed, and it shows the calories you gained and burned. The program's databases are preloaded with foods and activities, but you can add your own. The numerous charts and reports it generates are impressive, covering nearly every aspect of the data you're tracking.
On the downside, Healthtracker doesn't develop a calorie budget based on your information and you're on your own in determining daily target amount of nutrients, including carbohydrates and fats, something other programs offer. You'll need Microsoft Access to use this program, which is another hurdle in using this app. Overall, this app has some nice options, but the learning curve and the inability to plan your diet are oversights that will send most users to a friendlier and more comprehensive fitness app.
