  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />These guys are an honest company. I paid and got my serial number very quickly. Also, tech support has been great. I've used email and chat. Chat is usually the better way to go if they are on and my experience has been that they usually are on. You can access them via chat or email from directly within the app. They've always been very helpful and quick to fix any bugs tha we've found. I mean this in a very literal sense. There as always been an update anywhere between 1 to 4 days after reporting the bug. Besides all of that I mainly use it for PAL to NTSC conversion. It works very well for this. It allows me to built simple menus too. It's really a great app.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I purchased this product and in the past few months have gotten it to work on 1 DVD. It bombs repeatedly. There are no docs to answer interface questions. And the developer does not respond. The last reponse a month ago was to try the latest version. I did, and after 9-1/2 hours of "encoding" I got a 25mb file that wouldn't even open in Quicktime. I'm using a G5/Dual 2GHz with 4gb RAM, so it should have plenty of power. I tried it on my laptop with the same results. Continual bombs and failure to encode virtually any DVD to the iPod.

They have not responded to email, either regular or through their site's email form. The form doesn't even work with Safari -- and this is a Mac product... I'm going to sic my bank on their criminal *sses. ab

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Ok, I've been using this app since version 1.0 and I can say that it has come a long way in a very short time. The developers couldn't be better. I have a problem. I contact them, they fix it. I have a suggestion, they usually add it. These things are done within days, not months. They have already added many new options (iPod, PSP, cell phones, etc) and look as though they have many other improvements in store. I would easily say that these guys are on the lines of Ben Spink (Crush FTP) and Serbian (MPEG 2 Works) in terms of excellent support! This app has two really great uses (in my opinion). First it will let you easily rip episodes from a DVD and easily compile your own DVD of your favorite episodes (ripper not neeeded). Most importantly it allows you to convert those episodes/chapters to and from NTSC/PAL. This is great as I have a few PAL discs I've wanted to convert to NTSC. This is the ONLY app I've found that makes this easy. It doesn't do a 1 to 1 conversion, but it will convert the data on the disc and then allow you to build a simple menu using any background picture you want, or by taking any frame from the movie you want. The interface is a bit confusing at first, but after watching the tutorial movies at their website, it bacame very easy. The interface is very iTunes like, but I think it was confusing because none of the rippers, recompressors, burners I've used use an interface like it. Again, once you get it, it's very easy. Watch the movies... I really am looking forward to what is coming with this application. The price is also more than fair when you start thinking about what all this can do. The demo is a bit limited, butHawkeye really is a top notch program. I'd suggest you try it.
