Strong Engines

Pros
It is powered by Avast and Bitdefender engines and strongly protects users. before installing, I was thinking that these 2 engines make GData very heavy but it is using very low resources.
Cons
It is not easy to add/block a custom file in firewall rules. too many clicks. The firewall popup for unknown connections doesn't have enough information about the IP address which the application trying to connect to. also doesn't have 2 direction (in/out) block in a popup. When the modules and tools manually runs by the user from c:\program files\gdata\... , all of them run with the old version GUI. The header color is always red even when everything is fine! this is a part of interface theme but this red header makes me feel the pc is always in danger :|

Easy installation, updates hourly, light on resources, and it is dependable overall.

I have found no cons to date.
Summary
I purchased Bitdefender's Total Security 2013 and within a week I was infected with a virus. Bitdefender's support made a 'Zip-File' of my security program and said the 'lab' would send me the solution. After a week of waiting and asking (daily) for a repair, I finally gave up and purchased GData Total Security 2013 which had absolutely no problem finding the malware and disposing of it. The program works well in the background with no drag on system performance. I have used Bitdefender for the last time and I am fully a GData fan.
