  it did a lousy job of converting the files - all the pictures lacked intensity and were grainy in addition I got a boat load of malware - and i spent an hour of my worktime to clean it up CNET - you need to remove this piece of crap

  Converts Nikon NEF to JPG

  Contrary to publisher claims, this software converter tool CANNOT "also convert files to TIFF, BMP and PNG extension". Please tell me how this is accomplished when the only drop down choice available under the "Convert to" field is JPG. No "TIFF", no "BMP", no "PNG" as the publisher falsely claims.

  Summary

  Why do software publishers make false claims on capabilities? This is so frustrating so now my frustratingly fruitless search starts again to find a product to convert Nikon D7100 NEF files to TIFF. The supposedly useful Nikon product ViewNX has so many user complaints about the product actually corrupting source files you are trying to convert, which sounds like malware to me that must be avoided.
