  Of course the fact that it is free is positive. It is convenient because you can simply use hotkeys to log off and walk away.. It is not something outrageously different but it is convenient.

  it does do what it says, shuts down computer very quickly without having to go & close each program.

  Cons

  it changed my user account settings! after a few times of using it, i logged on to find all my settings gone & panicked! did a bit of detective work & found that somehow an extra winxp administrator account was added & i had been logged onto it. I can only assume it was because of the installation of this program because it happened right after i installed it. So in conclusion i would say stay away from this product, if its capable of changing those settings without asking the user then it could do other weird things to your system. This could be an especially nerve wrecking for less experienced pc users who won't have a clue whats going on or how to fix it.

• Some Quick-Start Bar Probs

  Force Shutdown really allows me to shutdown quickly without waiting. Just tick the "Force Shutdown" button will be OK.

  Cons

  This is a good program. But it makes my quick-start bar got some problems. For example, I put something to the quick-start bar and I force-shutdown the computer by using the shortcut key that I set. But after I turned the computer on. I found that the icons had put to the end of the bar. And once, when I put some icons there before restart, it disappeared! Think before download~

  Pros

  This is a nice little program, and yes it does force the shutdown of Windows XP (most of the time). Sometimes it doesn't work, and Windows XP just hangs as if shutting down normally.

  The hotkeys do not work & sometimes it occasionally hangs.

  Pros

  You have to admire a product that does what it says it will do and does it well. This utility allows me to shut down the computer pretty quickly. I was worried about the potential to corrupt data from open applications and such, but haven't seen any problems so far.

  It takes up a mere 100-200k of RAM, and makes shutting down, logging off or restarting that much easier, with a couple of clicks or even better a keypress combination. You can ditch it's system tray icon, and choose it to bypass those 'waiting for programs to close' delays.
