A useful sidekick for some tedious tasks, FileMonkey offers a mostly strong feature set. This all-in-one file tool helps streamline monotonous operations, such as batch renaming, duplicate detection, and search and replace.

FileMonkey also offers a solid file splitter as well as a tool for merging files, even those that have been chopped up using a third-party program. The encryption tool locks down files using 128-bit security, and though the file shredder lets you overwrite data using one or three passes, it still won't let you choose from mulitple secure algorithms.

The interface is simple enough to understand and can be skinned using preset color schemes or one defined by the user. Advanced users are the most likely to find FileMonkey worth a download, though a wide range of folks will probably appreciate its versatility.

lots and lots of tools features and options in one ap. once u get over the learning curve its features are easy to understand and implement. support from the guys that make it is top notch!
Cons
does take a while to get use to how it works but once u grasp the basics you'll find this most handy :) oh ya and, u gotta pay after 30 days free use :/

The interface looks like one of the old DOS file managers, not really like a current style of Windows program. It takes some effort to figure out how to make it do what you want it to. 30-day trial period... but I uninstalled it the same day.

This is my little monster in a box. Smaller than a mouse, but Stronger than the Hulk. This thing is freaking awesome, it cut soooooo much time out of a tidious operation of renaming folders. & That's something that I've had trouble finding in any program. Then when you think you've found it, it simply doesn't work the way they said it would. 5 THUMBS UP!!! This program is good, it's better than great

FileMonkey has lots of useful tools for working with files. Everything seemed to work as advertised.

The user interface was difficult to grasp in my opinion. I know that's subjective, but I found that it was hard to navigate through the program.

I purchased this product to manage some simple data projects at home. It has turned into the software equivalent of a my swiss army knife --- I use it for everyting from moving log files, to buidling indexes, to creating load files for the DB I use to track attendance and giving at our church. The customer service --- that is writing of scripts and even an extended functionality in response to my needs has really exceeded my expectations. I think this product and the folks that are standing behind it are outstanding. I highly recommend it.

The FileMonkey file operations package automates common file management tasks. Main features include: Perform search and replace on multiple file contents, names or folder names using wildcards such as asterisk. Rename files or folders to match a sequence or crop names. Copy or move files. Split, join, or merge. Change attributes of directories. Convert file or directory names to uppercase, lowercase or propercase. Find keywords inside files using the local search engine. Create batch jobs and add strings to file names. Append data to the start or end of file contents. Encrypt and decrypt. Edit last accessed, created and modified date and time stamps. Increase or decrease date and time stamps. Extract text from within files. Trim (truncate) file and folder names and file contents. Wipe free space and erase files. List or delete duplicate files. Filter, sort and print by size, dates, and pattern. All operations can now recurse sub-folders and are protected by the recycle bin.
