Free Community Edition is intended for a database protection and a basic monitoring of Firebird database health. It is a free insurance policy for your database: if corruption happens you can upgrade to Professional and recover data. As a bonus, you have monitoring information. FBDataGuard Community Edition also includes database maintenance abilities: general backup and incremental backup (for appropriate server versions) scheduling.
