• SLOW!! Will NOT text to phone numbers.

  If you want something that loads quickly, look elsewhere. Unlike the Messenger mobile app which loads almost instantly, the Desktop Messenger DOES NOT!! Likewise, if you are expecting SMS functionality with your telephone contacts, this DOES NOT WORK using telephone numbers. Unlike the Messenger mobile app which texts directly to any telephone number, the Desktop Messenger DOES NOT!! I can login to Facebook using my browser, then use Messenger from within there much quicker, albeit with the same Facebook members only functionality. Since I am afforded the same functionality directly from within the FB website without the delays of load-time accompanied by the app, there is simply no reason to have this totally useless app taking up space on my computer's drive...

  Summary

  If you do not mind waiting excessively long periods of time for this program to load, and only want to text other Facebook members, and/or are simply a FB sycophant, then you may just love this app.
