You can save notes, tag and sort with ease. Shortcuts allow me to save relevant "active" notes that I refer to all the time for easy access. When I change fonts, the fonts change for all my notes, which I like. Reminders for notes allow me to be productive on notes and respond to them on the day I select.

Evernote on Windows is terrible. It always freezes constantly on me, making it slow and clunky compared to OneNote which is smooth and works like a native app. Evernote never has. Evernote needs an extended tier notebook system for those who want at least one more tier to the notebook organization. I can't create a Table of Contents for one single note in Evernote like I can in OneNote so my notes in Evernote can't be too long. The reminders in Evernote don't stay or repeat, thus, if I miss a reminder and don't see it, I miss it altogether. Also, for some reason, the developers think that users what to see all white. In the new version 6, everything.....is......freaking.......white. Too much white space.

I'm guessing the experience using EverNote is much improved on the Apple system which I think is EverNote's main platform. For me, as a Windows user, Evernote on Windows feels like it has always been developed by a novice who doesn't understand the Windows operating system. Why can Microsoft create a note program that works smooth on their own system but Evernote, for some unknown reason, can't. I end up frustrated and questioning why the developers make the decisions they do. I would still recommend EverNote if you don't have anything else but it's not the best. It's good for clipping and saving those clippings but I don't take it as a serious note-taking app.

Good product with billing glitch, poor customer service

I have used Evernote for several years and loved it. It is extremely simple to store varying formats in well organized notes. I have not used web clipper; I copy and paste.
Cons
Evernote has a chronic payment processing glitch. People have been sporadically struck by the glitch for over a year; it happened to me twice. It results in premium accounts cancelled. Without a premium account there is virtually no customer service. With it one can only chat during business hours. One is expected to post an email ticket which is then ignored, post the ticket number on their forum, AND tweet it through Twitter, which is extremely bizarre. I got the problem fixed most recently by complaining to the Better Business Bureau.
Summary
Evernote is just exactly as useful as it is dependable and reliable. If someone is doing academic or business work on Evernote and loses access to it until Evernote deigns to pay attention to an account issue through its weird and convoluted modes of reaching customer service, that user is screwed. I am looking at other products. Evernote makes billions of dollars a year off of its millions of customers, and if it wants to remain number one it needs telephone customer support. Without it, this isn't a very useful product.

Since Version 5 was introduced, Evernote has become a piece of junk. Subsequent 5.x releases haven't fixed the problems. Evernote used to be a great tool. Now the bugs, which they never fix, make it painful to use. "Support" (ha!) for paid users is a joke. Support for free users ... well forget about that. DON'T GET STARTED WITH EVERNOTE. Look elsewhere for this functionality - perhaps One Note. Though we have been paid Evernote users for years, we are sadly, and painfully, transitioning away because the bugs (too numerous to mention) and lack of support have turned Evernote into a non-productivity tool.

Summary
I bought an Evernote Scansnap and two business licenses. Total cost circa £600. The main reason was for the claimed Linkedin integration. I have been trading one email every other day with their "support" in Texas USA because my system keeps crashing when I try to use the business card functionality. They DO NOT have a phone line which I find astonishing given the cost, and TWO MONTHS on all they have been able to offer is a WORK AROUND, which is DON'T use the business card functionality and store them in a PERSONAL file. I have spent literally hundreds of hours reinstalling their system, or using a NEW account. Non of this has worked. I am now supposed to sit and wait for the FIX. Unless you enjoy being a beta tester AVOID this product. SUPPORT IS A JOKE AND GETTING WORSE AS NEWS REPORTS CLEARLY INDICATE THEY ARE LAYING PEOPLE OFF SO THERE HAS TO BE A QUESTION AROUND THEIR SURVIVAL GOING FORWARD AS WELL.

It's taken almost a week for the representatives to barely help me fix a bug that's in Evernote's system. It won't sync. And I have over 21,000 documents I keep for work. And the problem still has not been solved. Very dissatisfied with customer service.
