• Esquotes works great, company owner seems to be gone.

  Pros

  I've used Esquotes for years. It is a good product at a good price.

  Cons

  Mr. Gilmore, the company owner seems to be unavailable and my paid for software will not activate on a new hard drive.

  Summary

  Esquotes works as advertised for stock quotes. I used version 1.x, then version 2.x over the years. I also upgrade my computer frequently. When I recently installed a new hard drive, esquotes would not activate- which it does online by verifying your email address with esquotes web site. It said I had exceeded my allowable activations and that I should contact the company. I tried to contact esquotes but no one was home. Their email addresses were dead. My email to them were returned to me. This is bull. I have lost my trust in Mr Gilmore, the company owner.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Apr 9, 2011<p/>4/9/2011--I found a GREAT replacement for esquotes. It is SMF_addin. Google to find it. It's free and works great with no registration hassle.

  Pros

  The good part is that it did what was promised and did it well So well, that I paid for the purchased version which also worked well for a short time.

  Cons

  The bad part is although I sent a copy of my receipt to the vendor, no one ever responded to my problem. I responded repeatedly and each time no vendor response to me.

  Summary

  It seemed to be a simple thing (the problem) and the response should have been made but although I tried the email address, the 800-number, and the web-site, I still can't get a response and can not get the product to work again. It keeps asking for me to PAY (again?????). Promise = good Follow-up = POOR. Seems like the creator of this product is great to writing software but has no clue as to how to run his business. For a simple follow-up, he could have had a satisfied customer who told others what a good product it MIGHT have been. For his absence, he has wasted so much of my time and lost my confidence.

  Pros

  Works well for importing delayed quotes into Excel

  Cons

  This is advertised as importing REAL TIME stock quotes. This is not true. By comparing stock quotes from ESQuotes next to a legitimate real-time stock quote feed, it is clear that the ESQuote stock quotes are delayed by 15-20 minutes.

  Summary

  This does not work as advertised, and the seller of this software does not respond to requests for refunds once it is clear that the software only works for delayed stock quotes.
