The paper diary is so passe. EJournal is a text processor that comes with its own electronic lock and key to keep private thoughts private. The program includes all the traditional functions of a text processor, with font and formatting options along with a spelling checker, and it logs each entry chronologically with its own date and time stamp. You can flip through entries by clicking a date in the program's calendar, or search for groups of entries using the search function. The program's navigation bar is loaded with buttons that offer one-step functions, such as print and backup. Files are secured with a password, and the program automatically locks after idling to ensure privacy. CNET testers encountered some stability issues when changing passwords, however. At 25MB, it's a hefty download, but it's worth the wait for those looking for a reliable program with plenty of features.

Pros
Very customizable so one can make their journal truly their own. Many options for text and formatting.
Cons
Well... I guess it's too bad if I wanted to purchase it. The company, Jornada, appears to have bought the old dot-com farm. All their links are gone... without a trace. :-(
Summary
I guess the features don't matter now... I'm off to try and find something else before the trial period runs out!
This program is very easy to use and is versatile in its applications.

Pros
It is easy to set up and can be used my multiple users on the computer. The journal is saved under the user name to reduce access by others and can be secured to ensure no access by others. I like the auto save and the "cover closure" when it is idle too long. I was able in insert pictures and external text. This is a good program.
Cons
The excessive toolbars can be intimadating.
