  Pros

  Lots of room for freestyle data entry, image pastes etc. Very easy and intuitive Price is good and the richness of features is a good value.

  Cons

  Tendency to crash - I've had 3 separate occasions when, in trying to open my file, I get a message saying that the file is corrupted or is not an AZZ file. I've written to "customer support" multiple times but have never gotten an answer. I've had to then reconstruct. No multi-user version that I've been able to find. I have 6 computers between my wife and myself. No cloud or network version that I'm able to find - would love to share contacts with my wife in one file No ability to query content other than what is in the index / card name. So, if I want to pull up cards with "(407)" somewhere in the content, I can't do that. Very poor customer support. It seems like this company is a couple of guys in Finland somewhere who must get overwhelmed with queries and they can't handle it.

  Pros

  I like it so much I bought a licensed copy. This is, to me, the best authoring/writing app there is. My approach to writing is to quickly jot thoughts as they occur, so as to not lose them, and Azz Cardfile is perfect for that. I have many card files grouped according to subject, and I just click one open, type a card title and the note, and done. Later, I can export and organize all the the related notes into chapters and a manuscript. It also has the ability to save images (and more) in a card.

  Cons

  The one feature it lacks and sorely needs, in my opinion, is the ability to right-click in the card list pane, copy a card, then right-click in the card list pane in a new instance of Azz Cardfile and paste that card. (Right now you can only paste a card into the same instance of Azz Cardfile you copied the card from.) If it could do that, Azz Cardfile would be my start-to-near-finish solution to writing. Here's hoping the developers can make that happen soon!

But once the files are saved and reopened, that feature no longer functions. It would be great if it did!<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Mar 14, 2013<p/>Also adding: I found that M8 Free Clipboard is a good workaround for this feature. It's a clipboard app that can hold multiple items -- for example, a card title, card text, and other card content such as pictures. You can then paste them all into a new card in a different card file.

  Pros

  The old version is so flexible, but has it's limitations such as search and formatting text. The new version fixes those limitations and makes it a quicker program to use than Outlook.

  Pros

  The free form access that makes it easy to keep any kind of info you might want to remember. AZZ cardfile uses very little system resources and snaps open. The interface is so easy and intuitive to use! The license give you upgrades forever!

  Cons

  If you use it to store pictures, it will start to slow down as your picture database grows.

  Summary

  I have been using AZZ Cardfile for almost 10 years. I use it every day many times a day! Whenever I need to retrieve some information, some detail, phone number, web link, notes on a project, instructions on how to do something...I look at my Azz cardfile. Nearly every day a coworker will need some info and I usually have it in my AZZ Cardfile. I can't imagine not using it. It is on every machine I use!

  Highly recommended. If memory serves me right, I believe when I had my first experience with AZZ Cardfile it was shareware and I was using Win 95. I've subsequently kept it up to date through the multitude of following versions of Windows and now my os is Win7. AZZ Cardfile has, without exception, worked with no effort on my part through all its updates and those of Windows.

  Pros

  Using this for 10 years now. Use it EVERY DAY to check accounts, mail addresses, contacts, price information etc. Always works everywhere. Takes little resources, OK on USB. Cheap and accepts pictures, scans etc. great as a database for samples, etc.

  Cons

  Small minus: the shortcuts don't work consecutively, need to push them simultaneously, not so practical for frequent users of shortcuts like me. Not so stable with Chinese.

  Summary

  Couldn't live without it, I need it every day for contact data. My wife uses it for samples of pictures, organized per supplier. Good searching capability, takes little resources, OK on USB. Pretty awesome, just the way I want it.

  Pros

  I like everything about the program. I've used it since becoming a beta tester years ago. It's easy to use; easy to organize; if you like the old CardFile you'll go full-tilt bozo over this. Keep track of addresses, recipes, java tips, dreams, etc.

  Cons

  The ONLY thing I could possibly put here is just the fact that there are three ways in Windows to copy n paste; CTRL C &#38; V, EDIT COPY or PASTE, and Right click - copy/[aste. You can't do the right click option. The other two are fine.

  Summary

  Everything you need a card file to do, this program does. You can even insert pictures in each card you choose to with no problem either by pasting a copied picture or using the INSERT PICTURE command. Aside from being easy to use and doing all that you need a card file to do, the author is very responsive.
