This nifty software app helps you plan and build picnic tables in a snap. Eidsness Picnic Tables U-Design certainly won't win any beauty accolades, but you'll appreciate its functionality. The program lets you easily customize picnic table dimensions, including the overall length, table and seat height, seat-to-table distance, and top size. It supports both U.S. and metric systems of measurement.

Once we entered all of our table's measurements, we were able to view the side and front panels of our table. We were also impressed by the variety of premade table designs for adults and children, as well as for accommodating wheelchairs.

For those who haven't found their inner craftsman, Eidsness Picnic Tables U-Design does include some tips, illustrations, and information regarding materials and assembly instruction. Overall, we would recommend this freeware for just about anyone looking for easy, build-it-yourself projects.

Developer's Description

Design and generate detailed picnic table plans.

This Windows operating system software will produce detailed picnic table plans based on the users input. With a few mouse clicks, you can easily design a picnic table sized for babies, children, adults, extra tall persons, and wheel chair accessible. Other than square cuts, the software is programmed to use only two angles for ease of construction and aesthetics.

It first attempts positioning the bottom of the table legs under the table seat in order to minimize the risk of table-tipping. David Eidsness, the software author, has a building construction background which included designing and building picnic tables commercially of limited designs. Lessons learned from past experience translates into software design features with emphasis towards a user friendly software program.
