• Terrible customer service

  Liked the trial version enough to purchase it.

  Cons

  4 hours after purchasing I am yet to receive the activation key in an e-mail. Requested it be resent numerous times, and nothing. It said to contact customer service if not received in 30 min, yet when you do it says they will get back to you in a few days. I recomend not purchasing it.

• Does What It Says

  Pros

  Lets you use your camcorder as if it were a webcam in MSN Messenger, Yahoo, etc. Needs to be a Firewire camcorder and you need a Firewire port on your PC. The reviewer who said it didn't work was using a camcorder with no Firewire output.

  Cons

  Not free--the trial version shuts itself off after a couple of minutes and you have to re-start. It costs $20 for the full version.

  Did not work with my panasonic Gs-200 camera. Yahoo messenger didn't see the driver in webcam settings and crashed when I tried going to webcam. Messenger stated could not read webcam. The other reviewer used a webcam not a camcorder. Yahoo and messenger already work with my creative webcam even without this software. However I was trying to use my camcorder with yahoo and messenger instead of my webcam, as the software describes it does. However neither of these chat programs recognized this driver as a webcam source. The dv driver did recognize my camcorder during setup so there wasn't a connection problem. It just doesn't work with messnger or yahoo. I run Win XP with the latest version of messnger and yahoo.

  Summary

  I been looking for this type of program for a long time, tried others but they didn't perform as well as DVdriver. Unlike DVdriver some even locked up my computer. The features are really great. The Zoom even though it's digital does a superb job of zooming my webcam, added to that is the Panning, I am really impressed, I got more features then I bargained for. I rate this program a 10 with a blue ribbon. Even at version 1.0 there's no need to improve. It was easy to install, starts fast and works perfectly. I have winXP and use a Creative Pro NX webcam.
