Back up and restore hard-disk partitions to and from a Windows file server.
Digital Dolly is hard-disk-partition image and cloning software that runs completely from a bootable CD-ROM. Digital Dolly can back up and restore hard-disk partitions directly to and from Windows file servers, and supports most common network cards. Simply put the CD-ROM into the drive and reboot. The system will auto-detect and configure the network card. There is no need to customize a boot disk for every machine. System administrators can remotely control the whole backup/restore process. Digital Dolly supports creating, cloning, and resizing FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, and Linux ext2 partitions and works with IDE, SCSI, USB, and FireWire drives.
Probably fine, but it wouldn't recognize my USB drive
Tim Orwick
Pros
The interface is OK; functions OK
Cons
I could NOT use it to transfer from a USB drive to internal drive because it would not recognize the USB device. Ghost wouldn't work either, and Parted Magic failed on the final step after 10 hours of copying. FINALLY, Ubuntu's admisitration function (a version of Parted Magic) copied it without error.
Summary
Awesome results.

Pros
It works like magic. I upgraded my hard disk from 6gb to 120 and it re-created my system exactly - but with all the new space.
Cons
It's difficult to figure out. On one ntfs volume, I couldn't resize the disk up to it's actual capacity.
Summary
Useful, but be careful...

Cons
Not really a con, but you must know what you are doing. Only for expert users.

Cons
You have to be careful about commands and linux or you may screw up the machine. The speed of the coming, is a bit slow as compared to non-free products.

Dont use this product until you have at least limited experience with linux. Is has a lot of very powerful tools such as a hard disk cleaner. I accidentally wiped my disk because i was not aware which partition was selected. Ohterwise a stable and powerful tool, but may be dangerus if you are not familiar with the ways of linux
another great linux product

This is an ISO file..an image file to be written to a CD-ROM. I used Roxio CD creator for the purpose. Bootable CD is working fine. I have also successfully backuped up and restored my Windows 2000 Professional bootable partition. Though it requires 2 steps. first u make the image of bootable partition and then backup the MBR to a file from within the options of this software itself. After restoring the partition image, one has to restore that MBR file also. And u r done with the bootable partition.
