MALWARE beware

Pros
stupid BS didn't even work when I trusted it to wake me up for a ski trip and I overslept an hour.
Cons
I thought I "DECLINED" all of thr malware on the install, but a step was well hidden -- obviously intentionally to mislead me -- and it changed my browser to CONDUIT. Too bad these services have to SCAM their way into your life, instead of being a legitimate product that I CHOOSE TO USE. Thanks CNET for allowing this crap on your site, I am using CNET less and less as they have become less relevant and overrun with ads.

-- Tried to sneak 2 'offers' into the download process that I had to catch and 'decline'. -- Actually loaded other crap that I have spent 3 days cleaning up. -- Reset home pages and default settings on Firefox and IE. FOR SHAME CNET FOR HAVING THIS ON YOUR SITE!!!
Summary
This loaded a search 'engine' called Conduit, changed my HOME pages on Firefox and IE, and changed settings to show THAT homepage on new tabs. It loaded something else call 'Mixi DJ' that calls this Conduit site, and set THAT as the default search engine in Firefox and IE, which I had to undo and remove via 'Manage Add-Ins'. This is an invasive, malicious piece of garbage...do not under any circumstances download this to your computer!!!!

Installs unwanted programs on your computer without the ability to opt out by unchecking a box.
Summary
The makers of this program must have decided they wanted to make some money on the free software so they added a bunch of adware. Right after install a page popped up for a third party software to install an add-on in Firefox. I always run Malwarebytes after installing this sort of free software and it found 5 trojans and other malicious items. I checked my programs and features and found three new programs that I never would have installed. Avoid this and find another free desktop alarm clock

Pros
......and this one is one of the best. It's simple but it does what it says. It's easy to set, easy to turn off and you can give it what ever alarm sound you like. I like!
Cons
Just a pity it can't be resized - I'd like to have it on my desktop but it's a bit big, and not all that pretty. However, having it in the quick-launch bar makes it very accessible.

Desktop Alarm Clock is a small and fast standalone application. It does not require any registration for download, decompression or installation. Just download it and run it. It takes around 0% of the processor time (you can check it with Ctrl+Alt+Del in your Task Manager) and almost nothing from your system memory. You can set the alarm and hide it in the system tray to free the screen space as well. It will pop up automatically when the alarm goes on.
