This simplistic freeware application deletes files, but only when they're not considered to be in use by your system. DELETE Deletion System doesn't require installation, so you'll have to launch the executable file each time you want to use it. The program doesn't have a true user interface. It briefly displays its logo, then uses your system's Open Dialog box to find a file. No settings or options are offered.

The publisher promotes the program as solution for overriding the irritating message that a file is in use and can't be deleted, but in our tests, DELETE Deletion System failed to delete those so-called open files. It did delete files not in use, but since this is more easily accomplished with the standard Delete option in Windows, there's no real benefit to the program. Even though it's offered as freeware, DELETE Deletion System doesn't provide much value for any user.

It is not an uninstaller.
Summary
One should never delete a file in use; it can have serious system ramifications. Always find the process using the file and stop it before deleting the file in use. Otherwise, always be sure you are not deleting a necessary file.

His delete button must be missing. Why have a program to exactly duplicate the actions of the delete key? If your delete key won't delete it niether will this usless program. (I only selected one star because you have to make a choice. Zero stars!!)

I had a video file on my computer that somehow became garbaged and was undeletable. This program was able to delete it. It required no installation process, which was nice. And it was free.
Cons
From other reviews, it sounds like this program isn't 100% effective on all such files. But it obviously works on some of them, as I just proved. For my money (har!) that's good enough for 5 stars.

OK, I appreciate freeware. I appreciate people who are kind enough to share their hard work, but please, I don't think a computer without a simple "delete" button exists in this day and age. This software did NOT delete the file I am trying to delete (being used by another program). I was pretty sure it wouldn't work after reading previous reviews, but cannot believe people who give it more than 1 star, even though they KNOW it didn't do what it was designed to do. CNET editors, after saying "DELETE Deletion System failed to delete those so-called open files" how can you still give this 3 stars? It should be removed from your site! <p>***sorry for abuse FireFight FM, I'm obviously frustrated that I cannot remove this f¤%""n file from my system!!! arghhh!***

Pros: <p> <p>-Small download size, great for machines on <p>slow internet connections. <p> <p>-Very easy to use, simply select the files you want to remove, and hit OK!

I tried to release the pesky persistent grip of Explorer off a file using SysInternal's (usually great) Process Explorer. <p>When I could not do it, I tried this program and it delivered - just as described! <p>One file is not enough to form an opinion - but I thought I should post this since the first review was quite negative.

For some reason the program did not work when my computer monitor's color quality was set to 24 bit. I lowered it and it worked.
