• Great Encryption Product

  Pros

  This product makes it easy to encrypt data to my cloud storage. It is very user friendly and very easy to use. No special software to encrypt the data. SkyCrypt creates a logical drive linked to a specified cloud storage. All you have to do is click and drag or copy and paste your data to that logical drive and it will encrypt everything for you and put it in your cloud storage.

  Cons

  Absolutely none.

  Pros

  Great program and very user friendly. It has lots of features and gets the job done. It really puts the minds of paranoid people such as myself at ease.

  Cons

  As handheld devices are becoming more popular these days, it'd be easier and more convenient if I could take SkyCrypt with me on the go.

  Summary

  Good program. Glad that I, and only I, have the ability to access my files.

• a good alternative to Truecrypt

  Pros

  I used to use truecrypt but I'm a little skeptical after their site was hacked. Found skycrypt on google and it seems to work well but who knows what the NSA is up to. However as far as I can tell it is encrypting my dropbox folded as advertised.

  Cons

  The only problem I had was that I had to copy all my files from one folder to a new skycrypt folder which took some time.

  Summary

  Overall it is working for me and it is very easy to setup and use.

  Pros

  Easy setup, free trial version. Works with all the major cloud services and pretty easy to use. Lots of advanced options for the paranoid and security-minded. I have it on my dropbox and google drive and haven't had any problems.

  Cons

  It'll be great once I can access all my encrypted files on my iPhone! Having to use the Z:\ drive rather than the cloud folder can be a little confusing at first glance.

  Summary

  Great for keeping the NSA out of your cloud based business. I use it to store all my documents and dropbox files, because no government (or anyone for that matter) should have the right to snoop on me at a whim. You'd hope Dropbox or Google wouldn't give the government your files but who knows? The keys are stored wherever you want them (I keep them on my USB drive), so the government can't go ask someone for your keys and password information.

  Pros

  Supports a good number of popular cloud services. Easy to use and set up. You can have as many drives as you can handle. You can set it up with Google Authenticator or make your own login for startup.

  Cons

  Since it individually encrypts every file it can take a while if you have a lot of them.

  Pros

  I've been waiting to try skycrypt out ever since datalocker announced its release. After a few days of playing around with it, I am for the most part satisfied with its utility. The application is user friendly, so unless you're technologically incompetent, you should be able to figure out how to use the program fairly quickly. In a nutshell, skycrypt uses a virtual drive system to both encrypt and decrypt your files. Not a novel idea, but it gets the job done and secures your data that's stored in cloud... which, in the end, is all that really matters. Skycrypt also performs well when booting movies or other files from your skycrypt drive. It lagged at first, but their updated version has been smooth to say the least. I haven't been able to replicate the issue since. Datalocker also makes hardware-based encryption products. I have their 1.5TB DL3, which I absolutely love. Coupling that device with skycrypt really does make your files as secure as they can possibly be.

  Cons

  although skycrypt is easy to learn, there are some inconvenient features. For example, you have to manually transfer all of your cloud storage data to your virtual drive. I had a lot of files already stored in dropbox that I wanted to encrypt using skycrypt. It's not a huge pain in the ass, since you can just move all of your existing files to your skycrypt drive. Still it does take up some time to copy all of your data, and it would've been nice if skycrypt could have recognized that and automatically encrypted all of my files. I also think it'd be nice to have a mirroring function on skycrypt for those of us who also want to encrypt our local files. Again, CONVENIENCE!

• Security with ease!

  Pros

  I have used Datalocker's portable hard drives before and was impressed with those. So I was not surprised when using Skycrypt that it was so easy to navigate and use. I really like the clean interface. The advance mode is great and I like the ability to import previous drives from a file.

  Cons

  None at the moment.

  Summary

  If you want strong security for your files, but without all the headaches, then I recommend Skycrypt. The Google Authenticator is a plus as well.

• Cant touch my files!

  Pros

  The only on-the-fly encryption software that I have tried that works with Bitcasa cloud service. Easy to setup and use. Works in the background. Just drag and drop my files to the virtual drive letter and the Bitcasa client does the rest. Files are encrypted before they get uploaded to the cloud.

  Cons

  Waiting on the ability to view my files through iPhone/Android.

  Summary

  I can finally sleep at night knowing I have a backup of my whole life on the cloud and that it is fully secured from everyone else but me. Only I can read my files no matter where it is stored. Now that I'm not so paranoid about my files, perhaps now maybe I can go outside find a girlfriend...

  Pros

  As a simple person I like simple things and this is very simple to use. Just pops up on "My Computer" for easy access. Really like the Google Authenticator that I just access from my phone so the password is always secure.

  Cons

  Only bad thing about the Google Authenticator is I always need my phone, so if my phones dead I can't access it... That's really not a problem though. I always have my phone somewhat alive.

  Summary

  Programs pretty cool at keeping your files somewhere safe and easy to relocate.
