- developers delivered for developers
- well structured
- powerful administration IDE
Cons
- there not a lot of modules or templates available however, you can easily implement your template if you have HTML knowledge
- if you are not familiar with XSLT and XML structures you might find it difficult at first
Summary
Comparing to DotNetNuke it's lighter and more customizable. I really enjoyed it and have decided to use it for a few projects.
Super high quality, top modern, developer+user friendly
mawtex
Pros
Really nice UI, great developer features and tooling, both ASP.NET Form, MVC and XSLT support, great markup control, multi language features, easy to setup and manage, quality extensions, great forum support and free open source.
Cons
Few starter templates which mean you need good html/css skills to use it, steep learning curve for more advanced stuff. Portions of the API is undocumented. Still few extensions.
Summary
Here is a .NET based free open source web CMS where the UI, source code and the way the way you develop is really well executed. As an XSLT and .NET developer I am able to build advanced websites with solid admin UI with a lot less code and still end up with a top notch result. Composite C1 is excellent for building customized websites.
If you are in the website building industry and care about ASP.NET and/or XSLT this is definitely worth checking out.
