Most CD and DVD drives come with software for making discs out of ISOs and individual files. However, if you've acquired a bare-bones drive, Complete CD & DVD Writer is a reasonable, though not ideal, substitute for big-name packages such as Nero and Easy CD & DVD Creator. Installation goes by quickly and ends with an optional launch. The no-frills application window displays buttons for CD-ROM drive information, settings, and disk erasing. However, when we tested two erase options, Quick and Detailed, Detailed caused a crash on our Windows 2000 system and we had to reboot. Also, the program lacks an option for verifying recording information and can't automatically shut down the PC after burning is over. Apart from its questionable stability and lack of bells and whistles, Complete CD & DVD Writer performs reasonably well. Just be sure to test it thoroughly before the meager five-day trial is up.

After installation, while launching the program, I was getting a popup, stating that this is an evaluation version, which will expire in 5 days. After pressing OK, the popup would disappear and that was it. The program would never start.

- Misleading user interface <p>- Doesn't check file size to tell you're over the limit, hence "Burn finished with errors". <p>- Just crap <p> <p>You want to trash your DVDs, this is just the software to use.

I was trying to burn a CDR from a BIN/CUE disk image, and kept getting the "Burn complete with errors" message. This happened six times in a row before I gave up and uninstalled Complete CD & DVD Writer. I tried Sateira CD & DVD Burner and it worked on the first try.

Beware, i made 2 coaster DVD's with this proggie. I think it was my fault tho cos i opened internet explorer and i noted the buffers went to jumping like mad. peharps it is my settings on the progie... no matter i will stick to Nero for now.
