• Too many bugs to list.

  The GUI is great. If it worked the way the display suggests it should, it would be a good program.

  Unfortunately the logic behind the display is terrible.

  Summary

  After spending an hour or so trying find out why nothing seemed to work, I eventually determined that the modem command to enable caller ID had to be loaded into one of the screens. There was nothing to suggest I might have to do this. I have experience with other similar programs that did not require that I know modem commands. The call log never gets any calls entered into it. The forum suggests this is a problem they are working on. After I got it working, sort of, I tested the blocker feature by loading my own cell phone number into the contacts list to see if it would get blocked when I called my land line. It did, however, after I deleted it, from the blocker list, every call that comes in is listed with my test name (that was deleted) after the name of whoever is calling. A display lists the last call that came in. It has a button that seems intended to add that call to the contacts list when clicked. That button is always grayed out so it never works. I have no doubt there are other problems I just haven't found yet. I see the CNET editors gave this program 5 stars. Be careful CNET, I used to trust you.

• Worth it just to block illegal solicitations

  Pros

  Can block 877 numbers. Regular phone cannot block tollfree #'s. Reported a hang-up caller to Atty Gen, but they still call & hang up--several times daily (877-888-8888)

  The little red phone icon was cute.

  Cons

  It didn't work. <p>You have to join a forum to get help and if you want the detection feature you have to pay for a subscription. There was bugs I could not identify. <p>Your phone answering machine works better than this.
