• Use with caution: Incorrect report, crash in VB editor, incorrect uninstall

  - reported functions, parameters and variables as unused, safely removable, which were in use. <p>- reported functions to replace for efficiency (for example Left -> Left$ ), which were quite different functions - member functions of controls or components. <p> <p>So, the report results are mostly usefull, but not always correct. <p> <p>- VB crashed at editing having this component installed (of course, i've lost my half an hour typing). I've never had a VB crash during editing before, since many years. <p> <p>- uninstalling this software it removed an .OCX file of mine, used by my project, and removed buttons from the VB toolbar.

  Pros

  The features I use most (not in order): <p> <p>The Autotext functionality. This feature alone can save hours, if not days of typing. It's not just a "dumb" utility that inserts a snip of code when you press a key combination either. Things like developer name, procedure name, module name, current date, workstation ID, etc, etc, etc are all inserted into the text before insertion. This makes normally tedious chores like, adding the name of the procedure to an error handler message, trivial. <p> <p>Project Explorer. Once you get used to this, you'll never want to go back to the "plain vanilla" project explorer that VB provides. <p> <p>Code Formatter and Code Analyzer. This is another great feature. This is especially useful while evaluating code that has been downloaded from the web or pasted into a code window. <p> <p>VB Code Window Enhancements. This is very cool. Get used to this and you're spoiled for life. No more hunting for If/End If - Do/Loop start and end points. They're all just a click away. Plus, since I post a lot of code to newsgroups, etc, there's a "nearly transparent", completely configurable, vertical bar in the code window that I use as a "line wrap guide" to make sure no lines will be broken by word wrapping in the newsgroups. <p> <p>I can't say enough about the Immediate Window replacement either. It includes a Tasks list, 2 Find in Files windows, a Find References window and the Reviews window. I use the Find in Files functionality all of the time. It blows VBs Find dialog away because it just lists all occurances. All you need to do is click on one and CodeSMART will do the navigation work for you. <p> <p>I can go on and on and on about the features I like but Download.com only allows me 2048 characters. There really isn't anything I don't like. I can't imagine anyone saying that they were sorry they tried and later purchased CodeSMART. It will truly pay for itself. • A Must-Have for Professional Developers

  Pros

  CodeSMART turns VB6 into a serious application development tool. I've been using it since the late '90s, and it just keeps getting better. I've purchased it for my development team as well as for my own contract use. I can't imagine using VB6 without it anymore. CodeSMART's many features work well for for personal productivity as well as for team-oriented development. Most important to me, it's features can be tailored to support our own coding styles, variable namaing standards, error handling strategies, etc. And in all the years I've used it, I've never had to contact Customer Service with a problem. <p> <p>CodeSMART is worth every penny of it's price.

  Cons

  The only CON is that you won't be able to tolerate the "plain-Jane" VB6 IDE after using CodeSMART.

  Automate error handling, sophisticated search across projects, auto formatting, improves coding window, auto display of completed if/then/while/wend code and more.

  Cons

  Plan on rereading the doc because this add-in to VB6 has several hundred useful features!

  Easy installation, really well written help and very user firendly - as well as being a full rounded and powerful tool -Would strongly recommend for any serious VB developer - I don't know why I didn't purchase sooner.

• The ultimate productivity tool for VB6 and .NET developers

  Pros

  Downloaded the product. Within days I was soliciting management for a world-wide licence. We now use CS across three large financial institutions, and we're thrilled. <p> <p> <p> <p>CS adds all of the stuff that should have been in VB. I can no longer imagine navigating a project of any size or complexity without CS. My personal favorites: Find in Files; bookmarks; Workbench; Code Formatter (which alone has saved me untold hours of "tweaking" line breaks, etc.); Insert Error Handling Code; Full Screen; and, especially, the Task List. <p> <p> <p> <p>Obviously, I could go on and on, but this is the one tool I use in my workplace I'd pay for myself if my boss didn't. Heck, I'd pay double.

  Cons

  Once you're used to CodeSMART, it's awfully hard to sit down to someone else's PC and try to use VB ;-)

  Pros

  This product is hands down, the best VB6 IDE enhancement package I've ever used. From the extended project explorer, to the code builder, to the TABBED editor layout, it's magnificent. No hardcore developer should be without it. Plus the support from AxTools is superb.

  I've been a CodeSMART for VB6 user for the last couple of years and have been extremely happy with the product, as well as their technical support. I've always received a quick reply to any of my emails, let it be about technical support questions or product suggestions. <p> <p>CodeSMART enhances the VB6 IDE and even makes the VB6 IDE enjoyable to work with. <p> <p>I would HIGHLY recommend CodeSMART 2005 for VB6 for any serious VB6 applications developer. <p> <p>Every VB6 developer should try the evaluation and see for themselves to how the product would help them. <p> <p>It's worth every penny.

• Simply Amazing

  Pros

  This software increased my programming productivity by at least 50%. I purchased it within 3 days of download. It basically gives you all of the time saving features built into .NET within VB6. Compliments to the programmer, don’t know how they pulled this one off, but they sure code a heck of a lot better then I can.
