• Truly A Great Second Layer Of Protection

  Pros

  Has an easy and fast install. Very small program. Less Than 2 MB's on disk. Uses little memory and system resources. Super easy to configure. The default settings worked for me. Clam Sentinel can monitor multiple drives. It is monitoring 4 drives on my computer right now. It monitors USB's for storage device insertion and gives you the option to scan it or not automatically. It's really obtrusive. It has been quiet every since I installed it. It gives ClamWin real-time protection and it's free.

  Cons

  Just like it's partner ClamWin, Clam Sentinel's appearance is very utilitarian. Not ugly, just very plain and functional. Finally,..It should be known about and used more!!!

  Summary

  With this great little app and ClamWin (required), you have the four things That any good antivirus needs. 1.) You have automatic and frequent virus database updates. 2.) You have the ability to schedule automatic scans custom fit. 3.) Real-time protection. 4.) Most of all you have proven effective protection. I use this with my Microsoft Security Essentials and have had no issue with conflicts between the two. If you already use ClamWin, why not beef it up a little with Clam Sentinel? I find it hard to believe the lack of exposure this little gem has gotten. It certainly deserves a higher ranked position in the AV world than it presently has. It would be a shame to see CS go by the wayside because of a failure to get the word out. After all, many a people have wished and dreamed of a ClamWin with real-time protection.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Oct 2, 2013<p/>I meant it's really unobtrusive.
