• Awesome product. Works beautifully.

  Pros

  Email is integrated. Instantly brings you all information about an email or contact. Keeps ToDos in order day-to-day so you can get a jump start on tomorrow. Plenty of notes capabilities. Plenty of cross referencing and file/folder linking in notes. Super straightforward and easy to jump right into.

  Cons

  The only issue I have is that if you are sending TONS of emails, with large file attachments, the software doesn't handle all of that information very well. It gets overwhelmed.

  Summary

  Perfect solution for most people.

• Poor customer support

  Pros

  I do like making notes directly to emails. Nice to link contacts to projects and tasks.

  Cons

  Customer support is really bad. They are responsive but do not offer much insight as issues that come up. I submitted an issue two days ago and still have not heard back from them yet.

  Summary

  Their lack of quality customer service is prompting me to look for another alternative after two years of using this product. I would look elsewhere before purchasing Chaos. I regret buying it.

• Poor reporting features. Email is poor at best.

  Pros

  Chaos Intellect is a reasonably good PIM and allows fairly complete contact information to be stored and grouped in various ways. It also allows the data to be shared with others running the same software.

  Cons

  Security is weak. Much of my contact information is confidential in my opinion. There should be a means of encrypting the data and require a password if desired. I don't like the email system. It always wants to check email when I start the app and I find no means of shutting that off. I finally had to deactivate my email accounts. I figured out how to filter a list on categories. But, (for example), some of the names on the list have a little "note" icon to the left. I have no idea what that means and there is no flyover prompt to help. Finally, when I open a contact record and immediately close it without changing anything whatsoever, I am prompted to save the record or cancel the changes. When I get to looking through a lot of contact records, this gets to be a real annoyance. If I don't change anything about the record, it should just close when I tell it to and quit asking me to confirm it every damn time.

  Pros

  1. Simple design 2. Configurable Views 3. For people who have no email, no tasks, few meetings, and time to wait for the software to catchup 4. Decent support

  Cons

  1. Email crashes and has no macros to categorize emails 2. Slow entry for everything - tasks, contacts, projects 3. Cannot stop email from downloading which prevents you from looking at your email list..infuriating when it keeps moving your email off screen. 4. Takes forever to enter tasks one at a time..so old school and slow. 5. Just about everything is old style, slow, and hard to update.

  Summary

  Trust me, you will regret spending $90 for this software. I should have gotten prime time software and not this dinosaur trying to keep up with Act! and others. I have not been able to keep my email sorted because the software locks up and is so slow to move email around. Just bad news..

• Am having problems with it under Win 8.1

  Pros

  It's ability to link contacts, tasks, appointment, emails, etc. makes it really great for business. This is a feature that is not available in most if any of the other CRM'S out there. It also has features that allow access to data form phones and web interface for extra $'s

  Cons

  My primary gripe is that the notes function does not work on my machine running Win 8.1. Customer service says it runs on many Win 8 machines but they are at a loss for why I am having problems even under a clean boot and after having reinstalled and resetting all configuration files. I have a few other gripes - might as well list them: Has a send later function for email and it works but - the recipient gets an email that shows the date and time that it was written instead of when it was sent. This can cause problems and they have not chose to fix it even after 5 months. Does not retain default category and group setting from run to run. Again no fix even after several months. They do not have a user forum to help users help themselves. A publicly accessible user forum can really help a software company keep up and improve their product.

  Summary

  A great CRM for business. Wish they were better at communication and respoding to thier user base. Wish it ran right under Windows 8

  Pros

  After I realized it serviced all my objectives I was very happy with how nice everything was to work in. Not over complicated, and all the features I needed. The support help videos are very nice, manage to cover all the issues I had. I suppose these must be a new edition. The customer management program itself is very easy to maneuver around with out a road map. I will be able to run my business very nicely and orderly with this software. I shopped thru the internet a lot, downloaded many that I thought might fit my needs, and after trying out at least 10 or so come to the conclusion this was good. Price is great as well. One time charge and your in, as opposed to a monthly charge forever. Backup feature is absolutely great, easy and accessible compared to backing up other software in the recent past!

  Cons

  Been working with it for a few months and everything seems pretty good so far.

  Summary

  Chaos Intellect has great features and easy to configure. Nice looking and a pleasure to work in. Support is good with lots of help videos (at least 50 or so) to assist with most all issues a new user would have. They were able to help me thru all my issues I have had up to now. Price is great with one time charge and your in.

• Version 4 a real disappointment

  Pros

  Chaoshost is a great idea, but the instructions are so vague and incomplete and support is useless.

  Cons

  Just can't trust the program anymore. I've been a user a long time and have always sung the praises of this product, but v4 has corrupted my data so many times now I just am looking for another solution.

  Summary

  A great idea, but this latest upgrade is a nightmare. If you value your data stay away.

• Version 3 great. Version 4 good but not great

  Pros

  Excellent linking between contact management and emails

  Cons

  Version 4 takes away the preview pane when viewing emails for a chosen contact. In v3 you could scroll down the emails and view the conversation. In v4 you can only see the subject line so you have to keep opening new windows to view what was written. A much slower process. v3 allowed NOT operator when building reports. v4 only allows OR and AND

  Summary

  Stick to version 3

• Real world features for busy people!

  Pros

  The contact (think address book) at the heart of it. Tasks, mails, notes and more linked by design to the contact, And accessible by clicking a tab instead of filtering, searching, dragging, copying as link or all the other geeky stuff email and PIM programs are famous for. Easy to set up. Enough configurable or custom areas to tweak into many uses.

  Cons

  Non-cascading/hierarchical tasks or sub-tasks in the task and project areas.

  Summary

  I would have easily paid double for the features and time-saving design.

  Pros

  Has many good ideas, and shows promise if Chaos includes someone with actual "running an office or IT department" experience on the development team.

  Cons

  Poorly implemented. No user who must archive email would touch the email program as it is currently implemented. Even Outlook is better overall. For now, if Chaos Intellect were a pro baseball team, it would be playing AA ball in Enid, Oklahoma, but will move up if it improves.
