  Since Version 14, Bounce Back Ultimate does not support versioning. That means you cannot recover from a corrupted file if the problem is detected after the next backup cycle. If you backup daily, then you have one day to recover the file before it is lost.

  Summary

  There are many good backup programs available that allow recover of a file from previous backups. Bounce Back Ultimate is not one of them. Be sure to read the fine print before upgrading, because CMS Products will not issue a refund.

  Pros

  BounceBack Ultimate 11.3.0.84 provides Reliable backup and restore.

  Cons

  Nuisance 'Bug' issue with BounceBack 'Launch on Connection' not working on version 11. Must be manually launched from ControlCenter or Taskbar. BounceBack still has conflict issues with most AV programs. AV must be disabled during backup.

  Summary

  All-in-All, I am pleased and I would recommend this backup and restore software. It does what it is supposed to do...Reliably.

  Summary

  This came with the 1.5 TB external I bought for file backup. Didn't know it came with this program, but was happy it did. I was quite pleased with how I could just plug it in and back up my files...at first. It was only after my computer died and I had to actually get to my backed up files that I realized that this program DOES NOT UPDATE FILES when you change them. I have no idea why it takes an hour to scan my hard drive for backup if it's not going to save new versions of files which have been modified. It might be some setting I missed, but I don't think so. This also might be fixed in new versions...for your sake I hope so. In summary, worthless piece of crap program that has brought me nothing but grief.

  Pros

  Simple to create system backup, and files on backup are browseable with std windows explorer.

  Cons

  File version back fails - gives up and crashes after scanning 1700 files. Restore interface shows current files on the computer, *not* on the backup. Pretty useless. Wipes entire backup disk for its own exclusive use, precluding other uses.

  Summary

  I would have been better off creating a batch file with "robocopy" from Windows resource kit.

  Minimum "my time" required. Saved my b_ _ more than once Peace of mind from knowing my stuff is backed up properly is GREAT GREAT way- maybe the best way - to install a larger hard drive :o)

  My business and a large part of my life involve the computer HEAVILY. My wife and I both HATED the thought of losing significant files or applications, or having to spend days or even weeks getting things recovered after a hard drive crash. With Bounce Back, I back up both machines completely, including registry, operating system, and all files weekly and it only takes 5 minutes of my time. The 2 most likely things to fail on a computer are the power supply and the hard drive. If the hard drive is failing and one backs up from a CD or DVD backup set, they haven't gained much, because the hard is still failing, not to mention how long it takes to back up to CD or DVD. I have swapped the hard drive in my computer with my backup drive more than once, sometimes when I was in Africa and other parts of the world. This took less than 30 minutes and I was immediately up and running again. Another nice feature is the backup drive is in the same format as the drive in the computer, so one can use Windows Explorer or any app to access files on the backup file. It is just an external hard drive with all the files plus operating system, etc. on it. Good computing! Mike Morriss Ponca City, OK

  Easy user interface and fast incremental backup.

  Cons

  Scheduling does NOT work in Windows 7 64 bit. Support is only available via Email and any attempt to fix the bug in their program has fallen upon deaf ears. Free programs such as COMODA and FBACUP4 work and the best part is they are free.

  Summary

  Save your money. I paid good money for this program and it is unable to do a basic schedule over time. I have asked for a refund but they have not been willing to do.

  1. Reformate, partitian (proportion to main drive) and back up the full system automatically. 2. Worked on XP, and 64bits Win-7, either connected via USB or eSATA. 3. Minimum down time, just boot up to BU drive and continue working.

  Cons

  Most Cons are minor: 1. This type of software is slower than an image program to back up whole PC. 2. The BU drive failed to boot up in my first few attemps. 3. Essential version has too limited option. 4. Somewhat expensive for Ultimate.

  Summary

  This is a great program, very good idea for either novice, or people who need minimum down time. eg, College student. It'll be slower when boot up from USB drive. (Hopefully, eSATA, or USB3 enclodure can help in the near future. It takes quite a long time to back up the whole drive if you have hundreds of GB of Data. I hope I have a choice to just back up the system drive and make it bootable. It does not make exact copy. (Of course, the orignal drive is not bootable if you place it in USB enclosure.) My first few attemps failed to boot up. It seems work fine after I increase RAM from 1GB to 2 GB. This is much easier than boot up with emergency CD, than restore the system.
