Restore your data from a disk, which has lost the directory reference.

Back4Win includes Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird backup. It's safe and easy to use. ZIP compression ensures that your data will be accessible regardless of which PC operating system, or version you are using (eg Linux, Windows(all) Mac and so on). Can restore from a disk which has lost the directory reference (most ZIP programs cannot do this). Does not have 4Gb and 65535 file limit of other ZIP backup programs. Version 5.0.0.4 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Pros
* it's free (but not really - see below);<p>* has firefox and thunderbird profile backups
Cons
* with the freeware version, you can't save profiles or jobs, schedule or do incremental backups, making it useful only for zipping a couple of directories;<p>* attempting to open a zipped backup gave me "unsupported or invalid zip file structure";<p>* using the program to remove a few files from a backup sent my computer into some disk access purgatory for a half hour and 250M memory, before i finally killed the process;<p>* the user interface is unconventional, to say the least, and downright confusing (e.g. it opens with a 'browser', for no discernable purpose; unlabelled buttons; no obvious work flow);<p>* the help tips are arcane, in some cases worse than the interface they're trying to explain.<p>how can i trust a backup program that creates corrupt archives? there are way better backup programs out there, even free ones.<p>(and, all backup schemes should include online/remote backup - there are many good options for this; some of the better ones i've found are mozy (https://mozy.com/?ref=ALM866) and xDrive.)
