• Billing with an easy interface

  BillPower's interface resembles a calendar and is more intuitive than what is offered in the other billing programs I've seen. Moving from day to day in the calendar reveals what has been entered into the program for each day, which is neat. I like the fact that the program allows me to reprint old bills (in the event that a client requires it) and the fact that the program never purges old data files unless I want it to do so. The only hitch with the program is that you need to modify a billing format to fit your needs, and that was a challenge for me, since I'd never set up even a form letter on my computer. Once over that one-time hurdle, however, using the program has been a pleasure.

  BillPower sets up on a network easily, and, other than creating a billing template (the form used by the program whenever it does a bill), the program is very easy to use. It has a friendly calendar interface that makes moving around easy. And any user can see what any other user has entered into the database. Any user can also prepare reports or do bills. Considering all it can do, BillPower is a bargain.

  What I need most is a billing program that will accept input for timeslips, disbursements, and receipts in as simple a manner as possible. BillPower delivers that, and it makes billing a simple matter, as well (once you've customized your billing format, that is). I often discover mistakes that I've made on bills, and BillPower makes correcting them a matter of just double-clicking on each erroneous entry, taking me to an edit screen. BillPower's reporting options are also unusually robust, allowing me, for instance, to find all timeslips pertaining to a particular area of practice, regardless of client, and over any period of time I choose. This program has been very well thought out.

  We love this program's calendar-type main window, which allows us to quickly switch to any date. The data entry screens are easy to fill in. In fact, the program fills in some fields automatically if you have set up your clients (as well as the timekeeper billing rates at the program's config screen) appropriately. The supplied billing formats are spartan, but they get the job done, and they can be modified if need be (though the modification process can be a bit intimidating until you get used to it). Unless you have some very unusual billing needs, BillPower is all you're likely to need.

  BillPower has lots of good features, but the best is the way I can move around its "calendar" to find or make time and expense entries. It also provides for billing one client at a time, or many at once. As with other programs, income and expense categories can be customized, but BillPower also allows me to customize "service" categories, so that certain services are charged by the hour, while others are charged at a flat price. The billing setup screen was at first a little intimidating, because it offers so many options, but I have quickly learned which options to focus upon for my billings. For my daily use, I find the program to be refreshingly simple.

  BillPower's day to day use is as intuitive as can be. Once time and expenses have been logged for a client, they can be conveniently viewed on a "calendar" screen. Billing is quick, and one great feature is the program's ability to reprint (or correct) old bills. Love it.
