• Easy to use and Professional Service

  Pros

  I am not computer savvy at all - but was able to understand E-File Magic's software easily. I had a couple of questions and emailed them - I got a phone call back that day and surprisingly from a CPA. Saved a lot of time, which my boss loved.

  Cons

  I have no complaints - completely satisfied.

  Summary

  The software is easy to use and if you don't want to use the software, you can import an excel file (Love this!). The customer service was excellent. The gentleman who helped me out, had a lot of patience with me and he walked me through everything. I had a ton of questions and he reassured me. This is the only way to file 1099s - it made my job so much easier. I'll come back year after year.

• Obsolete Software, Not Free. Totally Useless.

  I'm sure it is well written and all that, but it is useless.

  Cons

  This software is not free. And it is for tax year 2007 only. The service company to which it interfaces is terribly expensive.

  Summary

  Do not waste your time. While you don't pay for the software itself, you can't do anything useful with it. This software is for tax year 2007, and if you have only a few forms to fill out, you best look elsewhere. It is an interface to the company which produced it, and which charges the hefty sum for submitting the forms. ($24.75 for ONE form efiled, and $62.25 if you want them to print and mail it).

• Excellent Product

  Pros

  I started a business last year and was dreading filing all the 1099s and related tax forms. E-File Magic made this process VERY easy. All I had to do was create an excel or CSV file with all my recipient info, and E-File Magic did the rest. It created the forms, transmitted them to the IRS, and even mailed copies to the recipients themselves. The entire process took only a few minutes. Highly recommend this product!

  Pros

  My company sends on average 1500-2000 1099-MISC forms each year. We exported the data from our in house software, and imported it into E-File Magic. It took a few tries to get the import mapping correct(we made a few mistakes), but once we got it correct it took less than a minute to import. All of the forms printed fine, and were easy to stuff in their envelopes. Submitting the data to them for e-filing took less than 5 minutes.

  Cons

  Would like a more robust reporting module, but it wasn't a big deal as we didn't expect the built in reports to provide a ton of information above and beyond totals, etc.

• Great value

  Pros

  We?re early filers, and just submitted 80 forms for processing. The software was easy to use and forms printed very crisp and clear. All we had to do was enter the information and they did the rest. The entire thing cost us 71.20, and we didn?t even need to sign up for a TCC number with the IRS. A great product, highly recommended.
